I wish we would get some snow. I got a new snow blower 3 years ago and have yet to use it.

It was 64 here the other day and has and will be in the high 40’s and 50’s all next week. We just keep getting rain.

I think you are two days away in this weather pattern, I understand Missouri is getting sleet, rain, cold and some snow out on the farm. My sister has her voodoo doll of me out I think because she does not have a MINI with 4wd. :) :(

That's why it doesn't snow anymore by where you are. Get rid of the snow blower.

All you need is a decent set of winter tires.

I gave away my snow blower last year. Since I live in this condo/old folks home the ground crew clears the snow for me. :D

We got an ice storm tonight and are expecting snow overnight and into tomorrow. I have a snow blower but will rely on my new snow tires, instead.

I Received a call from my MINI dealer contact. He was asking me when I would like to take the MINI SE out for a spin. My car is due for an oil change soon anyways so I told him when I make the appointment to get my oil changed.... soon.

I was just thinking, after 15 years, and almost 300,000 kms, my R53 still gets about the same gas mileage as shortly after it was broken in, and only a minimal amount of loss of power and handling as after I installed the 15% reduction pulley and 22mm rear swaybar. Not sure I would be able to say that with an electric car. Not sure I would be able to say that about cars running on battery power after even 5 or 6 years. Would I be able to get anywhere near a 100 mile range on a full charge ?

What does the MINI SE get on a full charge? Our MINIs got out yesterday, then we got another 8 inches of snow overnight. Not going out until probably late Saturday as it continues to pile up on our streets in Colorado. Another short break and then more. Hummm, winter must be here! :)

old81, we usually get your weather a day or two later, but I think it's going to sweep north and east of us this time....at least I hope so!

Feb is always the toughest winter month for me, I just want it to be over by now!

It was almost 60 today at 8 am.
At 11 am we had tornado warnings and a wicked storm with very high winds.
At 2:00 pm it was nice and sunny with no clouds.

Then at 5 pm it started snowing, but not accumulating.

Now at 8 pm it’s still flurrying and only 33 degrees. Temps are dropping fast.

A tornado touched down about 5 miles
southeast of my house today, taking
    down several telephone poles.
Fortunately not in a very populated area.
Also had rain and sunshine at our house
    simultaneously.

Sounds like the kind of weather we get too, 30 degree temp changes in the middle of the day is not an unusual occurance......

What have I done to my MINI today, well over the past winter months I’ve been working on my MOTD 2020 prep list:

    ✓ Led lights set
    ✓ Led light covers
✓ Old race seat moved to passenger side
    ✓ With now sub-belt mounted
✓ Diagonal roll and harness bar re-installed
✓ Newer driver’s race seat has some extra cushion for highway
✓ New Led high and low beam headlight bulbs
    ✓ Colin’s MOTD schedule finished
✓ Kosei’s with flipped 71R’s balanced, cleaned, waxed and ready
✓ (4) spare Holies with new 71R’s mounted, balanced, cleaned, waxed and ready to install in back seat dip
✓ Fontana 50% Gift Card paid for
    ✓ Fontana Hostel bed reserved
    ✓ Same for Mike
✓ New brake fluid, RP oil purchased
✓ Buy oil filter and radios
    ✓ Clean Alcantara steering wheel
    ✔️ Oil change
    ✔️ Brakes inspected and ready
    ✔️ Brake fluid change
    ✔️ Clean & oiled K&N air filter
✔️ Remove rear Mini Sleeping Platform

    Still to do:
    ◦ Mount Kosei/RE-71R’s

That, plus all the other goodies your MINI has, means it's not Justa 05 R50 anymore, huh?

And another 4 inches of wet snow, was expecting 1-2 but we are blessed. High 20s. Cool all week, still winter, come on Spring! :)

Sorry Minidave, it is on it's way.

    Hot soup night, Happy Sunday.

A close friend of mine has been on the Nissan Leaf train since 2012 and just traded his 12' with 175k(miles) in for a 19'. I asked him how much the battery life falls off over the years and he said he got maybe 10 miles less than when it was new. He also said the batteries themselves are warrantied for 8 years and other than general maint. and a stereo issue it was a very trouble-free car to daily. I've been very interested in an ev daily for a while now. Got my eye on a Model 3 :).

Ask him how much each charge costs him on his home elec. bill, I know all about the miles per charge but not the cost per charge.
