I can't depose him, having picked up my new addiction to Gyeon products from him. I was a Zaino guy for years but a bunch of my Zaino product ran out or expired around the same time last year, so I decided to make the switch on Dave's recommendation.

I bet you are inspired to go out & do a warsh plus a proper detail on your 3 MINIs. :Cigar:

Me I was inspired to perspire & did a top to bottom detail on my German breadvan. Shines like a new deutschmark. I didn't use the high end car drugs like Dave O uses, but the ones I did use got the GTIs buzz on. ;)

Sorry, but my MINIs don't seem to believe in fine detailing anymore. Hell, even washing them seems more and more rare.

A clean car is a happy car. Clean cars run better too. Washing your cars will save on the repair bills.

    Pictures or it didn't happen!

About a month ago we were at a car lot and they had a White GTI with plaid interior. It looked great. My wife said if she didn't have her convertible she would want it. She really fell in love with it. But she loves her MINI.

Washing 2 of my MINIs during the winter or when there is a lot of slushy salt on the roads will save on repair bills, but I don't drive the R50 in the winter...at all. enginewise and inside the cabin, the cars are clean [except for my R53, which is impermeated with cigar smoke/ash].

I like the stickers I have put on my MINIs. They are thematic and I have never given a crap about imagined HP.

My "Old Fart Motoring Club" sticker covers the window tint hole in the back window of my R50 that one of my dogs tore when he tried to break through the window to get a cat. It serves its purpose well.

I was in a caravan w/ Nathan, probably heading to MOTD back in 2008 or so. One of his front wheel arches started flapping about madly (the clip let go), so we added a bit of duct tape to keep it from flailing about. One stripe of tape looked pretty funny, but when we added a second... well, it actually looked pretty cool! Like a pair of racing stripes! :D

About a year ago I took my 10 year-old Volvo into a mechanic to work on (AC issue). He opened the hood, looked in at the engine bay that was much in the same shape as this and said "Ahhhh... this is going to be so nice to work on! Thank you so much for keeping the engine bay clean! It's so much easier to see what's wrong when you can actually SEE the engine!" I'd imagine that leaks / issues of all sorts are much easier to find when things were clean before the problem started. That Volvo, in particular, has all sorts of nooks and crannies that collect leaves and dirt. I'd be surprised if most of 'em didn't have rust issues where that crap likes to build up. I don't even go crazy on the Volvo... just a once a year spray w/ engine cleaner, agitate the really dirty bits with a brush and gentle hose-down.

duct tape story. A few years ago I was flying my pitts s1c and was landing at half moon bay airport, and got hit with a crosswind hit the wing tip on the ground. after I park it got out look at the wing tip it had peeled back the fabric a little so we got out want we call are 200 mph tape. Put a couple of strips on and took it home. No problem.

Took my car out today, made a few stops and when I was in my last store it rained for 3 minutes out of no where.

took the car home, dried it and put it back in the garage.

Hello. Anyone remember me? I'm still alive, and still have a MINI. About once a week, I actually drive it to buy groceries. I did get it out on the highway today and let it breathe. Right now, I drive it about 100-200 miles per month.

Business imploded. All the classic car auctions are canceling. Pebble Beach/Monterey Car Week -- Cancelled! Add the fact that I have the dreaded "underlying conditions" that make Covid-19 some serious chit for me, and I'm living like a hermit.

%$&@# chrome top on my shift knob broke off, again, and my MINI dealer closed down. I can't find one anywhere online.

Washing isn't an issue, since the car is in my garage almost all the time.

I've been meaning to pop it and say "hello," but find myself with nothing really to say. This post pretty much sums up the last four months.

So, that's about all. I hope everyone is healthy and somewhat happy.

    CD
