Nice install. It really goes well with the interior.

Putting the MINI outside today so I can assemble and install my new water system for car washing / detailing.

chlorine filter + DI water filtration system. This equals spot free wash and rinse so you can let a car air dry spot free since all the hard minerals are removed from the water. Perfect for ceramic coated cars and cars being prepped for detailing.

I have a car wash a block away from my house with DI water so I have that covered. I also do not use soap just pressure wash and dry twice. I don't know if that is right but it seem to work. My car never gets that dirty.

Not Mini. The Helmet is just sitting. On the Lotus I just installed the oil thermostat sandwich plate, put the oil temp sender in it. After lunch I am taking the seats out and running the wires and installing the oil temp gage, I hope the wires are long enough.

New water system installed and works awesome. Tested the water from the tap before install it was at 205 TDS. (Hard Water)

After the install of all threes parts and a 10 minute flow test the test sample was ZERO TDS .

The black marks on the wall are from my Black rubber hose and that wall will be repainted soon.

Nice! I'm jealous of the DI system. I'm fairly lucky with Charlotte's municipal water supply being fairly soft (tested by eye, seeing water spots on the paintwork). I've gotten by with a wash with overzealous rinsing of panels already washed (keep everything wet), washing in the shade and using the leaf blower to do 95% of the drying once I'm done washing. It's not anywhere near your setup, but it does OK

How did this work out? Another detail coating with a super base? Did not get many hits on Goggle for a graphene based item.

Was it a good thing or something to avoid for the next few years?

    Always curious for commentary!

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hey Don,

Still testing, But so far they go on easy, bonds well and comes off nice, but I still need to continue testing it in the real world with some abuse and washes. I think I am going to fully Polish and coat my wife’s Lexus RX 350 SUV for full testing since it is outside 24X7. That’s right, she knows my 15 year old MINI owns the garage.

I have two brands of Graphene coatings that I am testing. So far I like them, but let’s see how they stand up.

I will not use them on my customers cars. They only get tested and proven superior Gyeon ceramics or for a little extra money Kamikaze coatings.

First time I took the MINI to the track. Brake fluid, brakes and tires were not up to the task lol after 2-3 laps they got real spongy and constant ABS lol

All season tires were fun sliding around, got flagged cuz I started having too much fun.

    Just testing the baseline.

Washed the wife’s car today with the new DI water supply system. It was great washing an whole SUV in 102 degree heat with a little shade. Rinse down with DI water, soap whole car and wash really well, rinse with DI water and blow dry with Toro leaf blower. Not one water spot to be found anywhere even on the glass. I did not have to use any towels or quick detailer at all.

I took the 16 Countrman down for yearly maintenance and a 2yr maint check too. Oil/Cabin Air/Brake flush/Sparkplugs, they said due to to time, it was covered on my extended maintenace, so went ahead and let them do it all. In the meantime I had seen a new MINI that tweaked my interest. Test drove, liked it a bunch, bought it. Really fast Does not wobble.

I will post pictures after I get it cleaned up again, damn Denver rain storms.

    :)

Not Mini. I got the power outlet on the lotus working without blowing a fuse. Seems someone taped up the positive lead so it wouldn't short out agents anything but then used a long metal screw that punctured the tape and was shorting it out. Put the seats back in it so now the interior is clean. Today I am going to put the panel under the motor and splitter back on and get it off the jack stands. Tomorrow my valve tappets come in. If they get here in time I will get the cam back in, if not it will be Saturday.
The up side is my wife said she wants to drive the Helmet. I have been trying to get her to drive it sense I got the car.

So I took a short drive prior to the daily rain and after spiffing the new MINI. Here are the basic pictures, need to find a quality photo shoot spot and take my big camera along. Here are couple snaps and the online link to a couple more.
