Funny, I bought a JCW Clubman due to the fact it is really station wagon in disquise, I can use the room inside when traveling with my Golden Retriever, she is bigger now at 6 years old. :). Not sure about bus, unless it is small fast short bus in yellow. :) :)

I decided the MINI needed some TLC, even though its 90F outside....

I warsched it, followed by an application of Kamikaze Water Spot Remover....
This stuff really works... (Yes... I didn't use wondow glass)

Followed by an application of Cosmic Spritz

Not bad looking for an 11 yr old MINI....

More 2020 JCW Clubman pictures for those who might have an interest.

Now to figure out if I want to run a front plate or gamble!

I have some ideas in mind for the JCW Clubman but some of my constraints are budget and Happy wife. :)

First off is getting some protection on the front and maybe in the fall change out the stock MINI bonnet strips, we shall see. After I get about 2 or 3K on it, maybe a track day and see how much wobble it has, it cannot be as bad as the wobble in the 16.

Nice JCW Don. How do you like the PDK or whatever BMW calls that transmission? It's a twin clutch isn't it? Love the DSG in the GTI. I'm not a stripes kind of guy, but they look good on your clubster.

Don I was going to ask the same questions as Chuck. That’s the same transmission they put in the GP. How is it?

More than likely the same gearbox, but I'd guess the gearing might be a bit different. Although JCW might make it the same. Don we need to know. :Nailbiting:

It is the 8 speed automatic, I do not think it is DSG but in the JCW is shift fine expecially if you toggle sport or put the selector in manual mode. I will ask at the dealer on Tuesday as I have to get that battery replaced the dealership fried. Improper storage.

    More to come.

Hello friends... and Dave.0. Just kidding Dave.

I'm still hanging out at home. It's where my office is, so not that bad. But, classic car auctions and concours are all cancelled, so not much work to do.

As for my MINI, I'm probably putting about 100 miles on it per month. It's in the garage, so at least it stays clean.

HOWEVER, if you park a car too long in your garage in North Texas, things happen. I have an intermittent check engine light. I opened the hood to check things out, and a *&%$# rat had built a &*^%$ nest in the engine bay. I hope the check engine light isn't chewed wires.

Car collectors here have a big problem with rats moving in.

So, new bait stations are down. Some stupid old lady in the neighborhood had Animal Control round up all the feral cats, so the rats moved back in.

I'll have to take the car down to RAC Performance and have it checked out.

I hope everyone is doing well.

It's good to know that you are well, even if restricted to your activities. I have aged relatives who live in Dallas and worry about them a lot, since they are in their upper 90s.

So, which is worse...having a rat problem or a RATT one [YEAHHHHHHHHHHH]?

I haven't seen rats here in Charlotte, but I did see a chipmunk go under the hood of my daily-driver Volvo that I park out in the driveway. I've heard that you can tie fabric softener sheets in the engine bay to keep rodents out of there (they smell too strong and they would rather go somewhere else). I've popped out a few times in the past few weeks to check and everything seems fine under the hood of the Volvo for now.

I did put some Stabil in the tank of the MINI and the Volvo. I filled the tanks in Feb, before the lock-down, and they still have 2/3 of a tank each! I'm out to have some fun in the middle of August w/ a local group of MINI folks, so that problem should be solved soon.

Get some moth balls and place them around the garage. Even put a a hand full or two in a old sock and put it under your hood. That should do the trick.

Put some Irish Spring soap under your hood. There's something about the tallow in the soap that critters don't like.
It also keeps deer out of the garden, just grate it with a coarse cheese grater and sprinkle it around the perimeter of the garden.

Yeah, a lot of collectors use moth balls in their cars that are rarely driven. They put them inside the cars, too (some early classics have wool inside). I love driving those.
