Ten years under that bonnet with a turbo glowing cherry red will do that. Glad you found these cracked bits before they became problems.
Put a turbo blanket around the exhaust side about 10K ago as well as an OCC, so maybe the new one will last a little longer than the original one did.
Off for a spin, and drone flight. Great day for it. I hope you all are having a great Labor Day weekend!
Went to see the car today. It's in a storage lot in a portable garage. It looks pretty good. I was told to leave it alone for two weeks to cure so no pictures yet but soon. I was looking at AGRANGE pits and I think he's looks a little better, but it's hard to tell. his bonnet is clean and mine has bonnet strips and black arches. ps: where's DAVE O
Got home from My oldest daughters wedding yesterday! I got the S2000 fixed something the dealer could not do so now I have my truck back. I plan on giving the Helmet a very good bath But first I have to clean the truck and change the 8qt of oil in it.
Brave me! I took the 2020 Clubby JCW to lunch today with a friend, yesterday it hit a high of 95, today we woke up to 34 and snow, it has rained and snowed off and on since last night around 10pm, the Clubby did well on the summer tires, road temps are up but outside temp was 37 in the Clubby. I can certify that I did not slip and slide in the slush, going on 425 miles on the Clubby since July 22, it is going to be a long time before I do a track day. PPF, new strips on bonnett, barn doors and sides next week, hope it stays somewhat warm. Cold and snow sucks. Don
Mavic 2 Pro, and yes, I can set it to follow. It has a few different intelligent flight modes that I'm still learning all the details about. You can see some of the stuff I've been monkeying around with here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXZCwtH6bwjj8kzhSPb6xw/videos
Checked on the Mini today. Everything fine, but even in the garage it's has a coat of very fine ash from the fires all around me. They are not close but the smoke carriers a long way.
Please stay safe out there! You coulda-shudda gotten the 4" of rain we got this past weekend. Even though it pretty much busted our drought, we'd have been happy to send some your way!
No smoke here, but oh man 9 hours of thunder & lightning. Bucketing down rain the whole time. We had it all Tornado warnings, Severe Thunderstorm warnings & finally Flood warnings. Stay safe out there. Fire moves fast, keep an eye out & be ready to move. Your car should clean off easily with that super ceramic coat.
All we had was 4 inches of wet heavy snow and a bunch of broken trees, potted flowers were put in the shed, house and garage, most of the outside flowers survived the freeze. Now for some warm. Early short winter in Colorado, you gotta love it or move South.
I replaced the clutch switch, don’t think that was it because with the clutch in I could hear the solenoid click. But for good measure I replaced it and a new starter. I believe it was the starter.
I have seen a micro switch appear to be workable but sporadically work when in its system. It’s great that you had success and eliminated the starting the problem for your son.
I have a question for everybody. How often have you taking your car to a shop to have something done (what ever) and they broke something else? This is the second time a detail shop pulled the the wrong thing for the bonnet release. They did a good job fixing it but. I had show the owner were it was but I guess he didn't tell the worker.
I had a friend w/ a Porsche 914 in the early 1990s. It was a 70's era P-car that was fairly rare and had a mid-mount engine. He took the car to a shop that was supposed to be a Porsche shop and watched the mechanic as he pulled the car into the bay. He opened the rear trunk lid to find, well, a trunk. The mechanic then opened the front hood to find another trunk. He watched the guy crawl over the car for 10-15 minutes, trying to figure out where the engine was and decided that maybe that wasn't the right shop to be at and he asked for his keys to be returned. Sure... a mid-mount Porsche is odd, but not so odd that a competent mechanic (who was supposedly Porsche certified) should have been able to find the engine and the engine cover release lever in 15 minutes. FYI: Here's the engine cover open. To get yourself oriented in the photo, you can see the gauges in front of the steering wheel in the top left of the photo. The car is a 2-seater w/ a removeable roof (removed in the photo).
