For sure, 110%. That's this weekend "project", lol. I was sure that I had the tubing already, but it was too large.
Installed this kewl hatch cover for my R56 ~ previous owners had dog hair embedded into carpet or material in hatch tried to vacuum but it still showed so this is a great alternative! $138 free shipping from AliExpress I think it came out great

The other day I took the Helmet on a short drive. What a fun car. Today I checked over my wife's convertible, she is driving to Trashville (Nashville) I am spending the rest of the day getting the Exige ready for my first track day. I am going to flush the brakes and give it a good once over. I also am going to cover a few parts with white painters tap so I don't chew up the paint with debris. Tomorrow should be a good day for it. It will be 66 and cloudy. If anyone has any advice I will take it....
I'll offer a bit of advice. If you have a ride along instructor listen to him/her. No one wins a track day. When you drive home with no damage it is a win! Take the tools you think you'll need along with oil, coolant & brake fluid. Water & some energy food for yourself. A chair & umbrella are good too. Have a great time Lee! Let us know how it goes.
More curbside repairs at home New MAF the other day Didn’t fix 2B5C (P115C) code Today: New throttle body and also removed intake and looked at the intake valves They had a layer of black crusty stuff but not too bad so I hit them directly with some Seafoam spray and a compact toothbrush then some canned air 2 intakes at at time, turning the crank in between so I was working on closed valves. All back together now, Seafoam smoked out, and the code isn’t coming back whereas it was happening every time I drove the car before. It’s nice when things go right. Yay!!!
I always like it when I go in with a plan and then everything goes exactly as I expect it to .... it’s a very rare instance so I really savor the times of success.
Removed the front plate from Skooby. No moar front plates in Ohio. Put a coating of Prima Epic on the hot chocolate body. Nice & shiny. I'll try & snap a pic or two tomorrow.
Be safe, think ahead, no red mist. Have a great track day and drive home in one piece. You can go back again soon! Yes, tape if the clear PPF is gone! Don
On Thursday, I drove my S to where my relatives are buried and decorated for the Holiday Season...a 400 mile all day roundtrip with numerous detours. It was a great ride in equally great weather [about 78 degrees, which is a rarity in OH at this time of the year]. I was about 30 miles from home when some cabron in a wide-tired pickup threw a rock into my windshield. Monday looks to be a repair day and the weather will be about 30 degrees less than it was on Thursday. Asi es la vida.
Over the weekend, it cooled down to below freezing so I cleaned out the interior all 3 of our MINIs and took out the carpet floor mats and installed the winter rubber mats. Then opened up the bonnet and checked the belts, oil and coolant. Vacuumed out any sand and grit in the places where there shouldn't be any and wiped down the area. Was going to changeover to the winter tires but just noticed it will be warming back up again tomorrow. So I will wait a few days to see if I need to change over to them yet.
Ok not really mini but the track day was fun. The only incident I had was when I came out on the straight and the car in-front of me waved me by I pilled right to pass him at a good clip. thats when a guy in a modified new GT350 Rosh Mustang decided to make it 3 wide. I don't know where he came from I thought I was watching my mirrors. On the briefing by the instructor after the session he was making a big point of not passing unless pointed by. He said the three wide happened a couple times. He did not seem happy. The only person not there to listen to him was the dude in the mustang. After the Novice parade my son said to watch him because he was getting the car sideways on the parade lap. Near the end of the second session about half way down the straight (its a drag strip) my car hesitated then in the back coming out of some corners it did it agin. I slowed and pilled into the paddock and shut the car down. A girl came over and said a lot of whits smoke came out of the care. The exhaust was white, I cranked the car and it was blowing out white cotton material. I thank my muffler gave up the ghost. Also the dipstick was up a little and some oil had been spit out. Its normal for my dipstick to be pushed up but this first time I have seen oil. On the way home the car pulled fine at half throttle but under WOT at 4500 RPM it would start to miss till about 48 or 5000 and the pulls fine. I did have a post cat O2 code before the track day. Its 57 and cloudy today to cold for a southern boy. Tomorrow I will check the codes and have a good look around.
Good you had a good track day, not sure I like that fuzz in the pipe, makes me thing you might have had something else breaking in the engine, check the compression and other bits as time and warmth allows. Don
