Nice that you are keeping the beautiful silk green MINI out of the carp they spray on the roads. Have you seen the weather forecast? The European model shows a load of winter weather for us Saturday & Sunday. The US model shows not as much for us here, but more for Piqua. Better get those snow shoes laced up.
Ummm, THAT'S why I'm getting the snows on my S Friday morning. Francie's car stays outside, and she's not driving much now, anyway, so her car can keep for a bit [like next week]. Besides, I love, l-o-v-e, LOVE driving in snow and can take her wherever she feels she has to be.
That is so true. In the snow and ice, the additional traction is very noticeable. But once it warms up, the softer rubber does not grip dry pavement very well. This shot is from a few years ago.
You can have all that snow all you want. I don't have that problem. I have to drive about 100 miles to even see snow and that's fine with me.
I was working today. I work from home. I was wondering if anybody went and got anything for their MINI that was a Black Friday sale item.
I stayed away from Black Friday fun. The Wife and I went and spent the afternoon at the shooting range.
Ok Ohio guys, no worries about snow. I just got done putting the snow shoes on Skooby. That means no snow will fall. Sure glad I bought that battery powered impact wrench.
Put my MINI away to hibernate through the winter..... Supposed to get snow and sleet next week... I'm looking at you Crash....
Many, many years ago, some dorm mates of mine convinced me to camp out in front of a store overnight to be one of the first 10 people in the door (buy a computer, get a computer free)... I had a car, so we loaded up with sleeping bags and headed out on Friday night. This was on the north side of Atlanta in January. We had a freak, deep snowstorm and, on our drive back to school the next day, the 4 of us were loaded into my little econobox (Mazda 323 4-door... called the Protege back then). Front wheel drive, good tires and 4 college guys (plus several computers) loaded in, so the weight was nice. My family grew up in Michigan, so my dad took me out and taught me how to drive in the snow, so I was cruising along, slowly and carefully at 30 MPH. It took us over 3 hours to get home that day (a 50 min drive)... one because I was driving so slowly and 2 because we stopped at least 6 times to push people out of ditches on the side of the road. We could have stopped for guy #7, but he blew by me a few minutes earlier at 60+ MPH in a small, rear-wheel drive pickup shooting me the bird as I had slowed him down for 30 seconds or so... for him, we just waved as we drove past.
Well, sold my R50! WHAT? Colin sold his RaceR50? And bought my best friend’s awesome 2011 R56S! Truly brand new with only 35k miles and modded to run the Dragon, autox and track! I’ve been instructing the former owner and her modify her MINI for the past 9 years.
We're supposed to get snow Wed night, up to 3" ....If it gets too bad I take the Allroad and leave the MINI home. But truth be told, we don't really HAVE to go anywhere.
The snows are going on my wife's S this morning, hopefully beating the Winter crap that's headed our way.
Wet snow here this morning. The roads are still warm so the snow isn't sticking, Yet! LOL Nice new to you MINI Colin, you are now in the turbo world. Bavarian racing green!
