Thanks all. A couple more. New bumper inserts are made, will try to get to them this weekend, though running the spaces open would be awesome if I didn't have a battery box.
Looks a bit odd on jack stands, how did they do on the mount and balance? What did you put on all 4 wheels, track rubber or great summer tires. Don I did drive the Clubby down to Walgreens, we still have slush and about 14-18 inches of piled snow on the sides of the roads, our street is still one lane but the sun is helping, pavement was drive, but puddles are bad. It is in the high 50s, low 60s this afternoon. Don
Had to go to the vets so I thought I would take Checkers out for a run. It's been about 12 or 13 weeks since he's been out.
This was fun. Here we are in a left turn lane in one of the busiest intersections in Vancouver. The car in front of me was a true MINIac. When he merged on the highway, I backed off a bit and let him in. We both waved at each other and and then motored together into the city of Vancouver. As we passed traffic we exchanged positions multiple times and had a great time weaving through all the slower traffic. At this intersection I stayed further back because the second sensor that triggers the left turn signal is 3 car lengths back from the stop line.
Saturday, I took a little drive up the interstate to Loveland Colorado, they had a local gun show I wanted to see what was what. Interesting, about 98% maskless. Kinda sad as this reflects poorly on gun folks and their beliefs about Covid. I did find the masks required sign (state mandate) buried in the back of the second gallery. Lots of old guns, some new, revolvers rifles, some variations of ARs. With our recent incident in Boulder, Colorado the sponsors of this decided to cancel next months down in Boulder County. A very good idea, I think. I went up to check for range ammunition and it's current pricing, $50 per 25 rounds of 40, 9 and variations. Guess I will limit my range time for another year. The MINI Clubby was excellent, fast and powerful going up I25 in the traffic with was thick and tight. I came down on the backroads down to Louisville, a nice 41 mile run of twisties. Love the Clubby more and more, it is tight and fast. Nice to have dry roads and temps in the lower 50s. Yes, I have had my covid shots, I was masked at the show. I did not take pictures, nope not a good idea. Be safe, mask up. Don
Went and put the summer shoes back on my MINI. Took a look and noticed the summer tires were down to the wear bars. Auurrggh. Had to buy new tires.
Good on you for noticing that. So many people run around with the cords showing. I as a rule pitch mine for new ones when the tread gets to 3/32".
When I was a kid, my snow tires were a set of steel belted radials with the wires sticking out of the tires. (I can't say tread because there wasn't any.)
Years ago when my daughter was in high school she told me that she had run over something in the road. She said that all she saw was staples all around the tire. Long story short guess what that cost me.
This bish just cost me 1200 bux! I still love her though. She needed a new front main seal and an alternator. I just did the 145k oil change yesterday afternoon. I've been pretty into biking over the last year trying to not go crazy in this new, or not so new anymore, work from home world. How many of yall are going up for the first annual Unofficial MOTD? I won't be able to attend but am planning a run up there maybe the 2nd of weekend next month just cuz.
