Boy is getting old a real pain. Work on my car a little this morning and man dose my back hurt. As usual even thing went back together with only a few problems.
Replaced the front driveside signal marker light bulb. Noticed it had burned out and I happened to have a stash of spares in my tool box. Glad my hands are relatively small.
Organizing an Ice Cream and doughnut run for this Sunday. So if you happen to be allowed across the border (those of you in the US), or are in the Vancouver BC, Canada area, you are welcome to join us. https://www.facebook.com/events/344262997273927/
So we were joined by a classic Datsun 240Z, an old MG, and a modified Mazda3. The Moke was stopped and the driver received a velocity certificate from Whiterock's speed inspectors. He got off with a warning. I think they pulled him because they didn't know what the car was. There was no way we were speeding at that location. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=234970024859946
You bet I do but I buy not sale! The depressing part is I go to antique stores to get most of my vinyl.
Took Checkers to a new shop today. Had a problem with one of my gauges so I thought I try them and see how they would do. My 3 other shops I deal with are like 60 to 100 miles from me and it gets old taking 2 cars. It's a test to see if they can handle it. I use to do some of my own work but at my age it's easier to just pay for it besides you can't take it with you (money that is). According to my wife I will be buried with my car.
It used to be that I could go to a garage sale near the end of the day and offer them $2 for what's left of the entire box. Most of the time, at least 5 to 10 are keepers. That is happening less and less now. But then, I have more great music than I know what to do with so it's all good fun.
After this young buyer and her Pop Pop bought the RaceR50, I continued to winter store it and also de-tuned it…….until she was ready! So happy to see the R50 bring more smiles to the next generation!
Well Checkers came out of the new shop. They found a small oil leak it the rear of the valve cover and the belt tensioner was a little noisy so I had them replace the tensioner and v cover gasket and seals. It looks like they did a good job. Time will tell.
Everybody had so much fun at the last one, which involved trips around the roundabouts, I was asked to set up another one. Anybody driving a MINI/mini the the Vancouver BC area (Canada), you're welcome to join us. Maybe they'll open the border crossings for those fully vaccinated by next week. https://www.facebook.com/events/219947940133286/ Okay, some guy in process of getting a MINI came in his 240Z.
Vancouver Use to be one of my favorite layovers. Haven’t been there in a few years. Looks like a fun day!
Now that I’m done with my month+long ordeal with kidney stones, 2 surgeries with laser lithotripsies, bilateral stents for 3 weeks between the 2 procedures… Put in a Wagner Competition Intercooler. Took a while longer to do than I expected, as I had trouble getting one of the hoses on, and had to dremel the back of the lower grill near both ends for clearance and it was still hard to squeeze the bumper back on at the end. Also had to pull the bumper steel bar forward to sniggle it in during the install. No leaks, no codes but haven’t had time for a test drive yet. 2009 JCW Clubman.
That was quite the ordeal! Glad your back! I would think that intercooler will make a difference lowering intake Tempes. More bang is always good.
