I missed the gaskets for the mirrors on outmotoring, found them this go around but only list one part number. It’s listed in the link but not on the page. Might have to get up with them and verify.
    https://www.outmotoring.com/MINI-COoper-51167058083-51167058084-left-right-driver-passenger-side-mirror-housing-gasket-seal.html
REALOEM shows the front attachment gasket but not the rear so I am assuming that it is sold as part of the handle.

That’s not actually the door handle seal.
It’s the fastening element on the inside
of the door that secures the handle.

I did get the mirror seals a while ago.
They only have the first Gen ones but I
was able to trim them and get them to fit
reasonably well on my R55 with some
additional trimming on the mirror itself as well.

Thanks. I consider it a 20 footer. It’s a DD so it has “blemishes”. Seats are next on the list for replacement.

Crossed a MINI mileage milestone on February 23, 2022. Coincidentally, when I bought my MINI back in 2005, I ordered it on January 3, 2005 and picked it up and drove it away on February 23, 2005. It has been a fun time. I want to thank the you guys for coming along for the ride.

I'm not planning on keeping my well used R53 until 400,000. It needs replacement of wear and tear items that will total out to more than the value of the car.

    Supercharger rebuild
    water pump
    Steering rack (worn)
CV boots (was told replacing driveshafts is less expensive than fixing the leaking boot)
power steering hoses and other hoses
    oil pump
    timing chain and guides
and probably time for a full on engine rebuild anyways
    suspension
    exhaust
    oil seals
    clutch

I still managed to get 14 psi of boost from the supercharger so it's still running pretty strong.

Waiting for the G56 (guessing) generation of MINI to come out, then will decide what my options are.

Well that really sucks. Sorry that happened. I would stay away from the dealer for that repair. Is there a independent muffler shop in town? I'd stay away from such places as Midas & Tuffy.

There is a great shop here in Columbus. Mad Hatter Muffler fixed the exhaust on Skooby for $90, the dealer wanted $1400 for the just the part.

Trouble is, Francie's S has a bad exhaust now, too. Shit seems to be raining down on me and my R53s...almost as bad as that ice storm last night.

The ice storm really sucked as we lost power this morning due to tree limbs. Maybe the muffler shop will give you a family discount on your vehicles. :D

It’s always like that, once something brakes it seems like several other things line up to suck your bank account dry.

Hope you get your power back quickly. When a ice storm it us a few weeks ago we lost power for almost 4 days. I was not in town the first day and half. My poor wife had to get the generator out and hooked up on her own.

We were lucky they got power back on in about six hours. Battery backup sump pump, wood burning fireplace and all was good.

We had a whole carp load of rain, but lucky for us the ice line was north of us. Dodged a bullet.

Yep cars get older & need repairs. They are still so much cheaper than buying a new car. You have two choices, fix them or replace them. I think that new Brick Lane MINI is calling your name. ;)

Nobody wishes for car maintenance expenses but in the big scheme of things repairing exhaust isn’t as major as an engine or transmission. Of course it’s not my money or time involved so I have a different slant on it.

Will it's the end of the month so it's time to go start Checkers and charge the battery. It started easy enough. With the weather getting better it's almost time to start driving it again.

Weather is getting warmer and with the snow and ice melted you can at least see where the potholes are.
