I don't have winter tires. My only set are ultra-high performance summer tires, so they are practically useless when it's cold out. Luckily I've got an older SUV for a daily driver and the MINI is a fun car. I do try to get it out and about once a month, just for some smiles and to keep things moving.

I'm off to MOTD in a few weeks... I should really get out and give Rufus a good shake-out cruise.

Drove to the E-Check inspection station and passed with flying colors.

With the announcement of the Formula 1 race in Las Vegas next year (2023) for November, I am gauging interest of my local MINI club to do a car rally/drive to Las Vegas to see the race and maybe do a AMVIV revival type of get together. I think the issue of concern is the snow that time of year in the mountain passes. I would probably try and involve the MINI clubs in BC, Alberta, Washington and Oregon.

Well today I took my JCW strut tower in to be chromed. I pulled the intercooler and boot clamps along with coolant over flow tank to be polished. I got a new CAI and I'm having it power coated. Then it's time to start clean the engine bay to get ready for some car shows. 003_edited-1.jpg

Thanks MCS02. The hardest part is keeping it that way.

So I drove the Helmet to work today. Then my wife and I drove it to go do a bunch of stuff today. I forget how much I love the car, it’s a blast. The problem is I am to picky about it. Mark if your still on here it’s your fault! I doubt I will part with it but if someone I knew would take care of it came along I would sale it. About the only thing I would like more is a Gen1 GP.

Be careful of what you wish for. There were five sold on BaT this year already and it seems they come available in bunches. I remember Dave.O commenting how much he enjoyed driving a GP1 he had detailed so get your loose ends tied up and be ready to jump on one when it becomes available.

I took my intercooler and a few other things to the polisher to get cleaned up. It never ends.

It’s hard enough to bring a nice 15-16 year old car up to near showroom condition but I can only imagine the dedication it takes to take one to the next level.

Funny but true as they do seem to run hand in hand.

Your telling me. I just had my wife car serviced and ceramic coated (3k) and she doesn't drive anymore. Now it's parked with it's cover on it. She has dementia so I don't let her drive. Getting old is b----ch.

Sorry to hear about your wife. Getting old is no stroll through park on a warm summer night that’s for sure. :)

Well it was an eventful morning! My wife left at 6AM to drive to Nashville to do a Mud Run with my oldest daughter who lives there. I got a call about 20min later she was very upset. Getting on the interstate her Mini started running ruff. She pulled over and called and said the CE light was on. I told her it was in limp mode to go to the next exit and I would meet her there. I got there and gave her my truck and limped her Mini home. Just her luck a coil pack went out, bad timing. Anyway I just replaced all 4 coils and plugs and it is running like a top agin. Her R57 has 98k on it but looks and runs like new inside and out and drives like new.
The up side is I drove the Helmet to get the parts. I had to go to the main NAPA store. I have been looking for 20 gauge wires to pin the ECU in the Exige today but could not find any. I had checked NAPA's web sight and they did not show any. Well while waiting on my parts to come down I asked and it turned out they had several colors. Great! Now her car is fixed and maybe I can at least get the Lotus ready to start.
Side note, on the way home at a red light across the intersection I saw a pepper white coupe! I almost never see one here. I gave him a wave(remember the mini wave?) and got a wave back.

Yes I think the wave went away right after the F56 ended.

Day started off a bit on the downside but things worked out well for you after that.
