Whew! I just got in from putting the coil over adjustment extenders on the rear units. It was a bit more of a job than I thought... took me about 3 hours, but I got it done! I also finally replaced the foam in the trim panel under the rear hatch opening. The OEM stuff had disintegrated and it looked pretty nasty. I bought some window unit AC filter foam many years ago but never had that trim piece off of the car, so I just never got around to replacing it. Since I had it off for this job, I figured 'no time like the present!'
Was checking the brake fluid the other day and managed to drop the reservoir cap behind the firewall and it ended up under the brake booster.... My hands weren't small enough to reach the cap.... So off came the windshield plastic cowl pieces.... Of course 13 year old plastic pieces are pretty brittle after being exposed to sunlight all these years. Resulted in a lot more smaller plastic pieces than what was there when I started..... After removing the cowl pieces and cleaning up the wiper linkages..... New cowl installed.....
I had to replace that on my wife's R56 one side just does not fit completely correctly. Yours looks good.
I had to replace that on my wife's R56 one side just does not fit completely correctly. I bought the complete cowl kit. It included the receiver that clips to the bottom edge of the windshield glass. That receiver accepts a barbed leg on the back side of the two large cowl panels. It can be tricky getting the barbed leg engaged with the receiver. But once you do, there is a satisfying zipper noise that tells you its attached.
I was thinking of doing the snow shoe to summer shoe switch on Skooby. Listening to the weather guesser had me changing my mind. Next weekend...
I did a bit of work on Rufus on Easter sunday: 1) Replaced the foam in the rear trim vents: 2) Installed the BC coil over damper adjustment extenders (that have been sitting on a garage shelf for several years) Lots of detail and more photos over on my Rufus thread: https://www.motoringalliance.com/threads/refreshing-rufus-2005-mcs-jcw.29878/page-28#post-432384
I didn’t do anything with my MINI today but I did see a nice F56 S this morning on my way to the recycling yard.
I cleaned the engine bay. Still waiting for my bright work to come back from the polishers. Maybe next week. then it should be fun trying to put the intercooler back on. I got new boots and they are real sung. I'm getting to old for this.
I say the same thing when I’m doing any number of projects …. then I think of alternative and I’m okay with it.
Well I can’t tell you but he worked so hard I just ordered a HK amp for him. This will be the third amp. The heat kills them. I wish I could find a repair shop for the HK amps
I worked for 11 months testing the new Audi vehicles every day and the Q5 Hybrid did very well. Great mileage and handling for an SUV. Ok.. The RS 3 and the RS 5 and RS Q8 were a LITTLE more but for a real vehicle to own, the Q5 Hybrid was one of our favorites.
