Another oil change.. this time on my 2002 Cooper. Ready for a weekend club event and MINI Takes the States later in the year.
Ernesto... Do you prefer the MINI branded oil? I noticed this was used on the other MINI as well.... BTW..... I can't get out of my head the mental image of you and the gear shift knob you posted 10+ years?? ago... The same knob in your sig.....
Does anyone have the Greene Performance GP coolant tank? Still have a few preventative measures I am taking and replacing the radiator cap is on the list, just not sure what the correct one would be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks.. I dont have any real strong preference for oil as long as it is a good synthetic. The MINI branded oil at one of our local dealers with a club discount was about the same price as other oils so I picked up a case for the two cars last year.. it may be my last time since one of the dealers has said they only do 0w30 recommended for the newer MINIS. Good memory on the photo, it was from 2009. Just showing off the custom Whalen shift knob on a cold day. I tend to re-post it mid-winter. Still love that pic and still love the shift knob every time I drive the car!
Yeah..... That's the one... I also have a Whalen, but he was kind enough to make a custom "Moom Eyes" for me... He does very hi quality work.... ATTACH=full]47136[/ATTACH]
I met Doug at MTTS 2008 at Elkhart Lake where he was a vendor.. we wound up at the same restaurant later that evening, so invited him and his wife to have dinner with our group. Ordered my custom knob after that.. Really nice down to earth guy, and he turned out some fantastic shift knobs.
Ha! Nice try I had reached out to Colin a while ago and never got a response. With the way COVID has been affecting businesses I wasn’t sure if they had taken a hit. I sent another email yesterday and he did respond. He did mention that if you need to get a hold of him you should call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s nice, You can’t go wrong with the Mooneyes logo. Mr Whalen made a nice quality product. I was hoping to get him to adapt my dad’s old cue ball shift noob for GIR but he has closed shop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
An FYI, I will be letting go of my 2020 JCW Clubman Friday, got a good trade value and will be a family car guy driving the 2nd most popular Colorado mascot. Audi Q5, it is dark blue with beige leather inside, a bit more room and easier for this old guy to get in and out. Sad to see the JCW go with only 2950 miles, not even a fun trip to the Dragon or Rockies except for some local drives. This car will be used by both of us as dear wife thought the JCW was to powerful, it is but fun. Don
I feel ya on the Q5 and it being easier to get in and out of as you get older. I've gotta admit that the entry/exit ease is a growing factor when I'm choosing a car now!
Turned it in at Flatirons Audi in Boulder County if anyone is looking for a steal with 2971 miles, a couple back and forth trips to the dealer. Pictures later, if anone is interested. I will update my garage here, still have that nice low mileage 2011 Countryman that the dealers are trying to steal. Wonder why! Have a great weekend, had a moment where I thought the Audi was not going fit in the garage, but it does tightly. Don
Went to a MINI Club car show at Autobahn racetrack. We usually get to take a few moderate speed lunchtime laps, but this year we werent allowed. I was able to take a few laps in my car driven by an instructor and long time friend. Not sure if the video link to my Flickr account will work, so I'll also include a still shot link to video: https://flic.kr/p/2nkADVF
Last weekend was cleaning out all of the stuff left in the car from MOTD. This weekend was a good wash, to peel away the bugs and dust from the outside. Oh yeah... some gas! Next time, the interior needs a good cleaning and I need to figure out what's going on w/ the driver's side floor mat. It's shuffling around all over the place. I think that the Velcro anchor pads on the bottom are coming unglued.
i have to let my youngest daughter use my truck this week so I will be using the Helmet. Just uncovered it, all nice and clean.......till it rains tonight.
The local MINI club (Vancouver MINI Cooper Club) went on a weekday impromptu drive and happen to stop by a Tuner cars n coffee event.
My youngest daughter has my truck agin so this week I have been driving the Helmet. Sure makes driving more fun.
