Replaced a pair of rock hard Bosch wiper blades with a pair of new PIAA wiper blades. Truly a less than five minute job.
Took Checkers on a 300 mile drive today. Went to a cars & coffee that was a little different. They had all kind of cars from American classics, hot rods new and old imports and a little of everything else.
This is what I did FOR my MINI today.... Last week I started painting the walls in the garage, so today I was able to mount some shelving and the Quick Jacks...
Will today is clean up day. It will take a couple of hours. The wheels are a mess (lots of brake dust) and the car is loaded with bugs. To get to Chico I have to go through a lot of farm land to many bugs. It was a good time. They have this every month on the first Saturday.
View attachment 47243 Will everything is done but the wheels. White wheels are a pain in the a-- but my car wouldn't look good with any other color. So I guess I'll have to pull them off and wash them. That's the best way anyway. I like to clean the back side. I like the look of them when you look and see white all the way through, but that will be in a day or two. I'm getting to old for this stuff my back is killing me. I was thinking when I wash the car I made 6 round trips around the car 1 rinse 2 soap 3 wash mitt 4 rinse 5 dry and then 6 dry again open the doors bonnet and boot to dry the jams .
Thanks MCS02. In case you where wondering from the inside the windows look like they are tinted ( see through)
Agree, very nice. The white wheels really set off the paint scheme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
"White wheels are a pain in the a-- but my car wouldn't look good with any other color" Life with white wheels got so much better after going from stock pads to ceramic pads.. Initial bite feels a bit less than stock, but very little brake dust..
Thanks Ernesto but I'm thinking of upgrading my brakes. I have the JCW brakes from 2005 but I like the new set up better,
Well its been a while since GIR has moved out of his spot. Had to get to some stored lumber, so out he came minus power steering. It seems if he sits for any length of time now something just doesn't want to work. I put him up on jack stands, checked the easy stuff all that is left is the 100 amp fuse to mark off the list. I am pretty sure it is the pump itself, still OE. Not bad for a 16 year old faulty part.
Got under GIR and changed out the PS pump last Sunday. Gave him bath yesterday and drove him in to work today. Felt good. Next project is doing something with the paint. I am looking at putting a ceramic coating on, just wish I had a garage to keep it somewhat clean for the process.
