My last car was a Corvette
Then:
1998 Corvette with Magnaflow cat-back exahust /X-Pipe, A blackwing air cleaner and Hyperteck tuning, ZO6 sway bars & Shocks with Michelin tires. It was a great car but falling apart so I traded it on my 2009 Factory JCW in October of 2009. I thoight I would miss the Vette but I really like my JCW much better.
The vette did do 180MPH:
and my JCW tops out at 148MPH but it gets to the 148 way faster then my Vette did.
***********************NOW*************************
I'm leaving My JCW just like it came from the factory except for the JCW strut bar and Michelin Exalta High performance tires.
The Mini is more comfortable, handles better, can actually carry stuff, will carry passengers in a pinch.Gets way better fuel milage and is just a better built fun car to drive. The insurance is 1/2 of what I paid on the Corvette.
I can now even park with the Porsche guys at the speedway. :biggrin5:

I started with a 72 VW camper van, then an 84 Renault Alliance. I briefly had a VW Fox, and then for fourteen years I drove a 96 Subaru Legacy wagon. It had 268000 miles on it when I traded it for the MINI. I got $750 in trade. That was a damn reliable and well built car.
-
I had a F350 4x4 that I traded for the Mini. Before that I had a 2004 GMC Yukon XL / Hyundai Sonata /2001 GMC Pickup / 1996 GMC 1500 pickup / Chevy 1500 4x4 / Ford Taurus / International Scout Traveler (loved that Beast) / Chevy S-10 / and my first vehicle was a Chevy Luv 4x4 that I replaced one motor in before shipping out to the US Army.
-
My first car was a used Vauxhall, which I paid $400.00 for. I have no idea what the model was, but I loved that piece of crap. It was white and I put a blue racing stripe on it.

My favorite previous car was my 86 BMW 535i even though it was falling apart. My least favorite was a 96 Grand Am. We currently have my MINI and the wife's 07 Suburban.
-
My previous car was an 04 MINI, L-O-V-E-D it, but I love the GP even more. Before that it was a Toyota Corolla totally reliable and boring Grad school car. My first car I ever loved was my Dad's 74 Land Cruiser, he still has it, and I still want it, some day I'll convince him to rehome it to me.

While I'm not that old (well some would argue otherwise), I've had too many vehicles to mention and modern pictures simply don't exist much past about 15 years ago. Pics of my most recent inventory can be found in my garage.

1938 Ford P/U
1972 Chevy Vega GT
1974 Chevy Custom Deluxe P/U

1969 Porsche 911T
1972 Toyota Landcruiser
1981 BMW 528i
1985 Chevy S10 Blazer
1987 Chevy Astro Van
1986 Toyota 4Runner
1989 Mitsubishi Montero
1984 BMW 318i
1985 BMW 528e
1992 Chevy Silverado X-Cab P/U
1990 Chevy K5 Blazer
2001 BMW X5
1955 Ford F100 P/U
1997 Chevy Silverado X-Cab P/U

I did this once before, and the count was over 65 cars......
So rather than try and do it again, suffice to say I've had a lot of cars! -

The cars I have actually purchased for myself (not including the wifes cars)......

Wow, hard to say, but here goes.....
62 Cooper S 1100
70 Ferrari Dino
69 XK-E
71 Citroen DS
For sure......there may be others after I think about it a bit. Trying to remeber them all is a biotch! -
1976 Buick Skylark
1981 VW Rabbit
1987 Honda Accord (only one I didn't purchase -- was going away to school and parents wanted me to have something more reliable than the Rabbit so they traded me)
1991 Honda Civic si
1995 Ford Ranger (still have)
2001 BMW 330 ci
2008 MINI Cooper S (current)
MINI is by far the best one of the bunch... Although the Rabbit was a lot of fun. Did a lot work on that car and autocrossed the tar out of it. Took down a lot of bigger, badder cars with it, too. 330 ci was nice, too, but after the MINI, it just doesn't measure up! :ihih: -

Johngo, I'm not a young guy - I owned a 1970 Dino in 1975, it was just a 5 year old used car then, although probably the most beautiful car I've ever owned! It was more than just a used car to me of course.... in 1970 I took a pic of a red Dino sitting by itself on a knoll on a misty race morning at a Lake Garnett SCCA event. 5 years later that was the car I owned - I guess it was meant to be! If I could even find it now, I probably couldn't afford to buy it!
My job situation changed and I relocated a couple states away, at the time selling the car was way smarter than the prospect of not being able to eat or pay the rent. As it turned out, I could have easily kept it as I sold my house and had plenty of profit to sustain me till I got a new job. Oh well, live and learn......
