I vote to keep the scoop Blue and the Silver lights Silver because they play well and tie in to the silver on the rims. Its all about the flow and accents. Believe it or not too much back on a non black car can look ghetto real fast. :rolleyes5:

Well, I got this far: [IMG]

Next up, side scuttles and if I can figure out the best way to attack the belt line. I may be overthinking it a bit.

I was bored and dipped my grille again, this time all of it, not just the slats.

The black 3M tape works better for the first Gen. cars for some reason. Maybe because it is narrower than the 2nd Gen. cars. I've applied tape to at least a dozen cars and the Plastidip works, looks and lasts much better than the tape.

I dipped every bit of chrome on my car within a week of getting it. Love plasti dip. Soo easy to use, If you screwed it up then the dip was too cold nuff said.

Looking good. I taped off my beltline and lifted the tape while it was still wet, gives you a crisp line. The other nice thing about Plasti-Dip, if there is a little over spray, it will rub right off.

Here's my dipped r50 chrome grille, only did 5 coats and it has lasted all the rock chips and me scrubbing bugs off for the last year. Still looks new. The grill is as easy as taping paper behind it and around the grill

As I was walking to my car last night, I instantly decided I'm going to leave the belt line alone. In the dark, that single chrome bit really pops with the wheels.

I have a black suction cup EZ pass holder and you know you don't have to put it on the windshield.....I have mine on the front edge of the sunroof. If I open the sunroof all they way to does not hit the back.

Ah yes, another reason to get a sunroof. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize this one wasn't equipped with one during the test drive (was too distracted by the instant euphoria). All I can remember is me making an offer right after.

Headlight rings, door handles, grill surround and the belt line. Next Plasti-Dip project is playing connect the dots with all the black trim, wheel arches to skirt to bumper trim and so on. The car looks incompleted, drives me nuts, damn OCD :mad2:

I would not bother or waste the $$ on Plasti-Dipping arches and side skirt and bumper trim. I have a cheaper easy fix for that and I am also OCD about my car being clean.

    Penetrol :ihih:

I will shoot you a PM.

I did my grille and where the license plate was. The previous owner bumped into something and the black makes it a little less obvious. I also dipped my hood and boot badges because the black fell off. One of these days I'll order replacment badges.

I disagree. I did the beltline on my R53 in 2008 and it looked just as good last year when i sold it. Just used the same tape on my R52 last weekend and j expect the same longevity. I used 3M Scotch cal Striping Tape. 1/2 inch

I did the silver trim rings around my Speedo, tach, and center vents on the dash. Works great for interior trim bits.

    Thanks.

I have seen a few posts on the Penetrol and have been meaning to try it, just haven't gotten there yet. What I mean by connecting the dots is I want to hit those "blank spaces" (body color) between the wheel arch and the skirt as well as the space bwtween the the wheel arch and the front spoiler, like in the picture below. To me, IMO if it was complete black line all the way around it would look more like a ground effects kit. What is nice about the Plasti-Dip is you can almost get the same texture as the trim.
