I work at a bank. And I hate it.

You guys have some sweet sounding jobs, but you also have a few years on me. Though sadly I have almost a decade at this bank.

One piece of auxiliary equipment ships have is an MSD or Marine Sanitation Device aka, "the **** tank" When I was a third assistant engineer, one of my duties was to pump down and hose out the MSD once a month. It was during those times that I would have loved to be working in a bank.

It did encourage me to advance my licence.

Retired banker. Former armored cav - worked in the maintenance end of things. Being a shadetree before the Army got me into maintenance, and am still a shadetree today. I spend some time helping other Mini owners modify or repair their cars (as long as they can follow some simple rules - don't ask to pay me to do a whole job by myself, don't be offended if I tell you I'm busy on your desired date, and once you are here, no whining). The rest of the time I'm either involved in homebuilding issues or, on nice days, riding my Harley.

Similar story. Retired, and play hard at it. (That Harley doesn't ride itself.)

It a former life, was a Project Manager for a very large multi-line insurance company. Tech. projects (went from dumb terminals to PC's) some corp. convention projects (convention halls and loading docks are so sexy) and while I did run a large phone project once, I too do not fix phones. But, I understood my real job was to make Vice Presidents look good, so I was kind of successful for awhile.

I'm completely retired now, having relegated myself to domestic engineering with a few travels thrown in to break up the monotony. Every day vertical and above the turf is a great day... I still dabble in the Vintage Mini Racing world as much as I can. And, by the way, after nearly seven years I'm still trying to come to grips with that statement, "The worst day of being retired is better than the best day working." I really DID love my job.

Stefanie..... My dad was an Animal Husbandry graduate from Cal Poly SLO. He developed a modified feed regimen that increased milk production in dairy cows. His employer at the time (long before my time) thought he was a kook and didn't take a second look. He really felt strongly that it worked and I believe he had some data to back it up. Though I'm sure technology has long since surpassed his theories and work, I'd love to know the Science behind it and if it does in fact work.

I fix Macs for a small outsourced IT company. I've been doing this kind of work since the last century.

    No, I don't fix iPhones. :p

I teach college automotive courses, after spending about 30 years in the car bidness and the last 13 as a facilities engineer for a manufacturing plant.

I have worked around the point of sale systems for the same company for over 16 years. Started by doing first level support, then second level support, then testing, then being a test lead for software releases, and now a project lead for enhancement releases or new hardware implementations.

For the last 11 years have been in APR (auto paint repair) for car dealers, repair bumpers, scratches and chips.
Prior to that was in manufacturing of wire rope for 24 years. If you have ridden the San Francisco cable cars we made that rope, we also made the arresting rope used to stop F-18's and everything else that lands on our aircraft carriers.
