Wow!! Wish you were closer to where I live.

I am an Oracle Database Administrator.. Installs, upgrades, maintenance, performance tuning and developer support for larger database, currently at a pharmaceutical company.

It's not quite as interesting as it sounds, but I like it :)

Cool. Think you can buff out the side swipe from couple of days ago on my car?

I am an IT guy. Help desk. Systems admin. Project manager. Consultant. The guy in the family everyone calls when they forget their email password (seriously, what is that about?).

    Hmmm....

I wear a variety of hats most all are internet based.

    Run Motoring Alliance - doh
Consult for the hosting company where M/A is hosted.
Technical Writer usually with multiple ongoing projects.
Working on building my Internet Media company - MotoringMediaGroup.com - Under Construction
Working on my blog - CarGuyRamblings.com - Under Construction
Create and Support software for vBulletin based sites - DriveThruOnline.com
Consult independently with other forums on how to grow and monetize their sites without pissing off the current membership

Also a student again taking classes in HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL in order to better break things at a deeper level.

I've not worked is a corp setting in over 4 years now and I gotta say I'm loving the independence. I probably work longer hours for less pay and benefits than most but the commute is great, the freedom to work on projects that interest me can't be beat and I meet a heck of a lot of great people.

I've been a certified Journeyman Carpenter for over 35 years. For the last 25+ years I've been a stagehand/scenic carpenter/props builder.

In the late 70's-mid 80's I also worked as a Cross-country ski instructor, coach and team manager. I managed the Manitoba provincial X-country ski team, head coach of the Canadian Woman's national blind X-country ski team, and taught hundreds of kids and adults how to ski. Yes, I was a professional(as in paid) ski bum:Thumbsup:

Being a stagehand, I've worked in theatre, film(which I hate), and music/entertainment road shows. Since moving to St.Louis, I have worked mostly for a marketing/branding company that deals mostly with corporate accounts doing conventions, displays, and corporate branding builds/installs. My boss has made me the "road guy", meaning I take convention/promotional shows out to different cities, as the stage carpenter. This involves prepping all scenic elements in the shop, loading/unloading semi-trailers, setting up of all staging, scenery, overhead trusses, curtains, supervising local crews, and controlling/running the stage and backstage areas.

I do detailing on the side, mostly MINIs.

I run a small frozen dough manufacturing plant in the boonies 20 min outside KC. We take raw ingredients and make dough that becomes sub style sandwich bread, bread sticks, dinner rolls, and pizza crusts. People say I must be rolling in the dough, but actually I'm not - I have people to do that! :D

I tell people who ask that I'm responsible for everything in the building, around the building, under the building, on top of the building and ....... the building.

I do all of the electrical, both high and low voltage, all the comm stuff including fiber optic, I run the ammonia refrigeration plant including periodic rebuild of the compressors, I designed and built a lot of the machinery - mostly in packaging, I engineer commission and install the rest, and of course maintain it. I helped design, engineer and oversaw the installation of our pneumatic flour delivery system too. We have one blast freezer (which I helped build) that operates at -30* to -50* and all 5 of our production lines are modular so that they all can feed into it.

I'm not in charge of production, but I'm responsible for it - or it's lack - if something fails. And something fails everyday, whether because of operator error, sabotage or simple component failure.

I've been with the company since it began, 13 years now, and will be there till I retire. Prior to that I was in the car bidness for over 30 years, doing everything from mechanic, to parts, service, sales, financial and finally as GM, usually for Porsche dealers, although I have also worked at dealers with Range Rover, Audi, MBZ, Jaguar and Lexus franchises along the way.

Currently I am a medical tech, specifically retinal angiography and imaging. In a former life (25+ years ago) I was a factory trained mechanic (Volvo). Those 2 vocations have occupied the majority of my working life so far, along with many other "fill-ins" along the way. Looking forward to retirement in about 6 years. :yesnod:

I guess that was vague, but I wasn't sure how muh detail was wanted. So.......

I served 16 years in the military, first as a helicopter mechanic, then as an MP, then as a Special Agent with CID (Army version of NCIS). Switched over to Civil Service as an 1811 (Criminal Investigator), working for the Department of Defense and finely retired. Currently working as a Special Investigator (Under Contract) doing background investigations for four of the three letter agencies.

Oh c'mon jbewley, there is only one thing you should have added--something to the effect that "I could tell you more, but I'd have to kill you first." :D
