I am changing from 18" to 17" wheels and eventually Koni yellows. Yup it's lowered with Swifts.-

Bug splats and road grime...

I actually had to argue with a guy the other day that did not believe i could fit. We were not around the car so I could not prove it.

Oh, and I hate officially having a designated pillow inside my car at all times, the girl does not like the seats. -
Then again...if you are lowered...no fsd for you!! And it seams like 50% of MINI's are still on OEM struts...hidden parts, so folks hate to spend $$ on them..... -
the fog lights were an option still when i bought mine, so i only got the front ones, as i thought, and still think, that rear fog lights are useless. so the salute once in awhile for sure... -
Driving long distances on Texas Interstates. Long, straight, boring and marginally maintained stretches of roadway full of idiots and 18-wheelers.
Yeah, the speed limits are 75, but it is not a good 75. My MINI isn't geared to do 75 for four hours. I end up getting the gas milage of much bigger car.
Then there are the trucks. I won't drive I-45 or I-35 at night, because I want to be able to see the biggass truck tire carcasses in the middle of my lane in time to go around them.
From Dallas to Austin/San Antonio, I take the longer two-lane country roads. It takes longer, but the scenery is a lot nicer, there are some curves to break the monotony, and I encounter a whole lot less debris on the roads. There is also some darn good BBQ along the way. Dallas to Houston doesn't offer as many good side-road options.
So, as much as I love driving my MINI, I tend to rent a car when I need to take to the Interstates. That is usually for business, so I can bill the rental to my customers.

i find i get great gas mileage when i set the cruise control to 80 on long trips. when i first got the car, i went from Denver to Billings on one tank of gas, about 550 miles one way

I hate having to decide what one of them I am taking out on the weekends, what one I'm going to work on, and what one I like more...
