Ever since BMW / MINI bought John Cooper Works they have ruined it.

It would be a good aftermarket build, and something along those lines was what I had in mind for the Porker... However, with the aftermarket support on a decline because there aren't many ways to get inside the computer programing, and general loss of interest among people wanting to actually modify the cars to the extent we have with the R53's it doesn't make sense to do it... Which is one reason I jumped ship for a real BMW.

Agreed! Which is why Ford keeps Shelby separate from even the SVT division... Look at Chevy a few years back, EVERY model had an SS package and it ruined the SS image and nameplate.

SO true. Gotta love it when a 2000's Monte Carlo says SS and it's not even supercharged. WHY?! What the hell is Super Sporty about a 3.8 liter naturally aspirated 2 door BOAT. Granted it was a good engine but they're a dam pooch when you get on the gas. Even in the 80's, a 305 in an SS Monte, they gotta be THEE slowest fast-ish looking car in the history of cars. A dam caprice wagon can smoke those things!
