Clubman S owner here, researching my future Countryman S, and I'm curious what kind of mileage you guys and gals are getting with your Countryman or Countryman S. I'm personally planning on an S with a stick shift, but would like to hear from anyone with a Countryman. Please chime in with your mileage (town/highway/average, or whatever you've got), and if you'd be so kind, please also include what model and transmission you drive. Thanks!!!

A bit less than the claim. Round trip to the coast (190 miles) with a kayak on the roof I get 28.9. Around and about mix about 26. I get around 350 mile on a tank and I use premium gas.

We get 26 to 26.5 in normal city/highway mix driving. Pure highway driving is 28 to 28.5. It's my wife's Countryman S with an automatic. Hope this helps.

No problem. I have had my wife running 93 octane in her's just like I do my JCW. I just reviewed the Countryman owners manual and it states that 91 octane is preferred but 89 octane is acceptable. Darn....I could have saved some money over the first 10,000 miles :mad2:

93? where do you get that? we only have 91....

89 seems to work just fine... i'm still deciding whether she runs better on Chevron or 76..

my 2006 Justacooper was getting 420/tank on 87 from 76... (miss that sometimes)

...Kelly, I'll try to make you feel better....yesterday I filled my wife's Countryguy with 89 octane and drove it 268 miles from Indiana back to Ohio. The previous tank of 93 octane got 28.4 mpg going over and the 89 octane got 28.6 mpg coming back. The mpg was calculated using the actual fill amount and trip odometer (not the seat of the pants on-board computer). I felt no difference in performance nor did I hear any engine rattle.

My JCW is staying on a 93 octane diet :cornut:

Now if I understand this right you can put a half tank of 91 in & then add another half tank of 91 that'll give you 182. :cornut:
