Compact spare tire, tire pressure gauge, extra oil, towels and quarters for a car washing, and detailing supplies to clean up bugs and bird poo and to clean the windows. The oil and window cleaning supplies have been useful for others.

I carry a portable air compressor, slime kit, tire plug kit, and a quart of motor oil. Going to add the OEM MINI warning triangle next.

Occasionally will bring along a torque wrench and wheel socket for longer rides in case anyone else needs a hand.

+1 to cell phone and credit card. That will take care of the rest.

I carry a cell phone, credit card and beer. That's really all you need.

    Phone to call for help.
Credit cards to pay for above help.
Beer to enjoy while waiting on help to repair your car.
** Note ** Offer beer to help and the work gets done faster and the bill is lower.

You really don't need anything if you maintain your car and watch where you are going.
If you take care of your car it will take care of you.

I've had tools in the car since I started driving. I really need them for my first couple of cars. Now all the cars I'm responsible for have tools in them; my wife's and both my son's and mine. They also know how to use them.

Both my boys have had to make use of their's already this year.

I also include gloves, flash light, and an old shirt.

I keep the OEM jack kit
A Spare Tire (on long trips)
    Slime
    A portable Compressor
    Flashlight
    Knife
Rainex and 0000 Steel Wool for the windshield
    Road Flares
    Emergency Blankets (they're small)
    A small multi-tool

And most important of all, a Towel. You gotta know where your Towel is.

Most of these items fit in that small compartment on the right side of the boot.
