Working hard on getting caught up on my engineering jobs. I have taken a temporary leave from Summit Racing Retail position. Datsun 240Z race car engine going together nicely. Sons are home from all their colleges doing their Spring semesters online. My wife is also working remotely from home.

We're under lockdown starting tonight at midnight - I wonder just how effective it will be? How will they enforce it? Roadblocks to check your papers like MCS02 says, call out the guard? And what about just jumping on the bike like MCS02 says? Can you still do that? Or take the classic out for a quick blast to clear the cobwebs in both the car and your head?

    Brave new world indeed.

I was at the grocery store today for bread, milk and TP - you know, the essentials - and they were busy - not slammed, but busy. Everything but TP was on the shelves or being restocked.

Shelby county witch includes Memphis has a stay at home order. But you can go to the store, post office and go out for exercise. It started at 6 this evening. so I don't know how they are going to enforce it.
It was about 6 when I took my old Indian out for a test run. It has not been charging correctly sense I got it running. Turns out the powder coating on the frame was keeping the generator from grounding properly. It was good on a short ride. tomorrow when I get home from work I plan a nice long ride. If I get pulled over I will tell them its exercise.

My company sent us an email with travel papers to print, If you are in a state that is in lockdown and get pulled over this is your papers. "Letters of transit" I feel like its WWII and I am in Casablanca. It basically says we are an essential company and are allowed to travel to work. I have heard TN will be locked down on Monday. No getting out of work for me!

I knew they would, especially when the Governor of NC issued that ordinance barring groups of more than 100 a coupla weeks ago. True to form, those having made reservations at Fontana will only get gift cards now. I was able to get a refund or to have my deposit and reservation extended to next year's MOTD. I took the latter, but now I juuuust have to survive this current crisis.

    MiniDave,

Can you see me talking with the police officer, “but I thought you closed the Dragon just so I could get some safe solo runs in?”

It will be reopened by then. I split our cabin with two friends, we each pay for two nights. Now if you follow Fontana on Facebook you would have seen the no limit half price gift card sale earlier this year. Our whole group bought $500.00 + gift cards for $250.00. No restrictions and can be used for MOTD lodging.

Now the whole week only cost us only about $200.00 each, for entire week Sunday to early Sunday morning.

We bring our own meals, beer and everything else we could need and go out on fun drives for local BBQ lunches.

The rockslide year was awesome as was the Tornado year. We even stayed the entire week when the power went out. We cooked meals and made coffee in our driveway fire pit. Good times.

So it looks like the lock down here is not much of a lock down. Almost all the stores are staying open even the liquor store. They posted a list of things you can be out of the house for.
    • Go to the grocery, convenience or warehouse store
    • Go to the pharmacy to pick up medications and other healthcare necessities
    • Go to medical appointments (check with your doctor or provider first)
    • Go to a restaurant for take-out, delivery or drive-thru
    • Care for or support a friend or family member
    • Take a walk, ride your bike, hike, jog and be in nature for exercise — just keep at least six feet between you and others.
    • Walk your pets and take them to the veterinarian if necessary
    • Help someone to get necessary supplies
    • Receive deliveries from any business which delivers

here a list of essential business

    • research and laboratory services
    • hospitals
    • walk-in-care health facilities
    • emergency veterinary and livestock services
    • elder care
    • medical wholesale and distribution
    • home health care workers or aides for the elderly
    • dental services
    • nursing homes or residential health care facilities
    • medical supplies and equipment manufacturers and providers
    • grocery stores, (including stores that sale non-grocery items like Family Dollar, Dollar General, Wal-Mart)
    • Auto repair shops
    • pharmacies
    • convenience stores

    • Food banks
    • Homeless shelters
    • Banks
    • Newspaper/media
    • Rideshare companies: Uber, Lyft
    • MATA
    • Blood banks
    • Airports
    • food processing, manufacturing agents
    • chemical plants
    • medical equipment/instruments
    • pharmaceuticals
    • sanitary products
    • telecommunications
    • microelectronics/semi-conductor
    • agriculture/farms
Not on the list but one gun store told me today they are staying open because they are an essential business, Damn right they are!

The Governor said that people would be ticketed then backed up and said they won't pull people over they plan on going after the businesses. He said they are looking at using code enforcement to force them to close. I have asked a few stores I went in today if they are staying open the said yes. I was told a few days ago by one store the lawyers said they can't legally force them to close. I guess thats why the governor is going to sick code enforcement on them. The league Mob.

So I hope everyone stays safe and well, just use your head.

now back to fun things to do during the apocalypse :D

Since you are doing social distancing and few, if any people are out and about anyway..let your governor close the Md. roads and just ride your bike on the sidewalks or bike paths. ;)

Los Angeles has done the same. Only stores or facilities permitted open are those who sell food or household goods. Most have abided by the rules.

Idiots got the beaches shutdown as they kept partying there. Still runs on toilet paper (wtf)

We were just informed this will continue until April 19 ... each week it’s pushed an additional week.

Got in 70 miles on the bike yesterday. Maryland is officially shut down as of last night, so the bike will be sitting for who knows how long.
Hooked it up to the battery tender and treated a full tank of gas. The R58 will get out at least once a week.
