What was your childhood dream car?

Ahhh lovely.

Always a fan of small cars here...Sprites at Sebring, especially in the rain, Minis in the Monte.

Big race car? No contest...Chapparal.

 

For me it was a Porsche 930.



Those of us of a certain age that were AutoWeek subscribers way back when got this poster in the mail one day.



I was already a PCar fan, but then that poster arrived...

 

I've basiclly had 3 life long dream car wants, #1 I have (sort of), #2 I could prob. get with the right amount of effort, and #3 I could never in a million years afford.

Hell if I ever could afford one & bought one, I'd probably never know it due to the blood loss to my brain from the constant stiffie I'd have.

 

I always liked BMW's.... but this one stood out when I was younger

Always wanted a classic 911 Turbo with the whale tail. Though tastes have changed, so I will take the new 911 Turbo, mmmmmmm.

 

1963 split-window Corvette Stingray, Z06 spec. Insanely expensive, assuming you could even find one.

I agree, the 63 split window was my dream car until I met my first Ferrari Dino sitting in the infield at Mid-Ohio It remains my dream car even today.

 

There were so many... '61 'Vette, Ford GT-40, Dino Ferrari, '32 Ford Hi-boy Roadster, '50 F-100, TR4A, '63 Nova SS ragtop, '56 Bel Air...
I built plastic models and slot cars of most of them.

 

Porsche 917.... Especially in Gulf Racing blue/orange.

'66 Shelby Cobra has always been my dream car.

 

Same here ever since I saw my first one at 10 years old

 

+1 on the big block Cobra. Still love that car!
