1960 Chevy Biscayne Post Coupe 409 Dual Quad. That car would pass everything except the gas station.

My first car is a 1952 MG TD and I still have it! I paid $700 for it in 1972.

It is currently in primer, after a frame up restoration.

1959 Morris Mini Minor 850...THE first Mini of any kind...4-speed, non-synchronized, choke on the dash and starter button on the floor, 5 gal. gas tank [36 mpg of regular gas @ 12c/gal.], 520 tires and 10" wheels, 6 volt battery [positive ground...VERY hard to find], BMC 36 HP engine, slider windows in the front and flippers in the back, TERRIBLE heater/defrost system.............ahhhhhhhh, youth. My dad bought it in 1960 for $300 and I got it in 1961.

Ended up with a 351w, ran 12.90's & would see about 3/4" of daylight under the left front tire, on street tires.

    Looking back.....It Was a TOTAL DEATH TRAP.....oh to be young & not give a sh*t anymore....

1973 Mercury Capri. Metallic green with fat 60 series Kelly Springfields. It had the 2 liter, milled head, headers and a Weber 2 barrel carb. Paid $900. I beat that poor car and learned how to fix everything I broke. My mom always said she knew where I was because her friends would see in some parking lot fixing the car.

:cornut: In 1968 I(my Dad was long dead so during my Junior and Senior yrs HS I worked 40hrs/wk nights and weekends in an auto parts store and supported myself helping out my mother)purchased 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4dr(rats, 2drs were better) with a 265cu in V8. I put a 450 double pump Holley carberator, Edelbrock manifold, Mallory dual point distributor,Borg Warner T10 4spd transmission with Hurst shifter, and dual exhaust on her. She was a honey. But then in 1969 I was bitten by the Sports Car bug and traded her for a 1967 Datsun SPL311 1600 2 seat roadster that could blow all of the MGB's off the road. Great Fun! Could it really be that almost 50yrs has passed since then?:eek6:

    1967 Chevelle.

It was a basket case when I bought it at age 17. Learned how to wrench on it and have been into cars (performance and offload) for 30 years now. Inside, I'm still that 17 year old kid ;)

My first was a 1951 Studebaker that I dressed with fender skirts, white walls, lowering blocks, and straight thru muffler. It got me my first moving violation.

1972 Ford Maverick with warmed-up 302 & C4 auto. True sleeper. It was 1986 and made a few of the local kids with parents that had cubic $ really mad.

1955 Chevy Bel Air. Bought used in 1977. Didn't run but I had big dreams. Sold shortly afterwards when I went in the Air Force. Looking back I wish I would have found a way to store it. (Stupid hindsight)

In 1963, I became the proud owner of a 1949 Chevy Styleline Deluxe. First mods were skinny white walls, moon disc, glass pack, and a Spark-O-Matic floor shifter. This black beauty had oxidized paint so my college roommate tagged her the "blue seducer." Total investment about $250 bucks.
The Spark-O-Matic shifter snapped during a street race and was replaced with a more expensive and reliable Hurst Unit ordered from Chattanooga's Honest Charley Speedshop.
