Those cars held so much promise. From what I gather the engine had to be severely de-tuned in order for the engine to live. The result was a dog.
:cornut: Detuned because?.?.................the transmission/rear end couldn't handle all the power or what. Splain it on me please Crashton. Jason
My first was a 1951 Studebaker that I dressed with fender skirts, white walls, lowering blocks, and straight thru muffler. It got me my first moving violation.
1974 Ford Maverick, Grabber addition w/ the 250ci straight 6. Ended up with a 351w, ran 12.90's & would see about 3/4" of daylight under the left front tire, on street tires. Looking back.....It Was a TOTAL DEATH TRAP.....oh to be young & not give a sh*t anymore....
The first car I bought with my own money after graduating from university was a factory pre-order early build V6 Pontiac Fiero. It has the earliest serial number of any V6 Fiero with manual transmission out there. Daily driver - commuter car for the first 20 years and then.... the very first Fiero in the world to be granted collector plate status in 2010, and coming in first in class at Fiero Fest Northwest in 2011. In the stock unrestored class... and I still have it. Also, 2 weeks ago...
