I have a feeling the 1967 GT1 Corvette hot laps at Moroso in FL (over 180mph! HOLY cow!) and my Mini are the closest things to an "E" ticket I will be seeing anymore. I actually used "E" tickets back when I was a kid... One of those iconic things that is starting to fade from memories as we get older.![]()

I was at the El Toro Marine Base (when it was still open) Air show just after the first Gulf War. One of the displays were two F-18s. Between them was parked a red Lotus Esprit. It had a personalized license plate that read "F18 DRVR".
It made it very easy to find all the hot chicks at the show. -

My wife, Olga, grew up on the Dnepr river in Ukraine. I also ride a Ukrainian, Dnepr motorcycle!

In a 2008 "Cannonball Rally"-type event there was a little run-in with the law. Out of the group of us the "officer" identified us by "Rally-driver xx". I was #9 of the bunch. Thus, RllyDrvrIX.

She's from a place that translates to, " Peter's town on the Dnepr."
I got my Dnepr from Russian American Motorbike Company, in Seattle. Sadly, the Dnepr factory closed in 2007, and they couldn't get any more Dneprs in Seattle, so they closed.
Vostok motors in California has some nice old Dneprs.
There is also another company called Ural, made in Russia, and they still make those. Ural NW has brand new ones. Urals look alot like Dneprs and all the major components are interchangeable.

Yep I've been looking at the Ural's for some time. A friend of a friend has one and I am jealous.

Well mine is pretty simple. 2 favorite things MINI'S and Hockey. My kids have played travel hockey for about 13 years. They are 21 and 18. so now that they dont play anymore we finally could afford to buy our MINI. Still watch every KIngs game and go to at least 5-10 games a year.

My online handle merges my 33 year career as a Firefighter, the nickname I picked up on the job, and the Battalion I was responsible for when I retired in May 2008. The best of all worlds all tossed into one.
As for the MINI, the name Montag is derived from the lead character in the movie Fahrenheit 451. It represents, not only my right to read anything and everything MINI, but also the choice between my personal safety and driving too fast for my own good. Besides, the MINI's colors look like the fire engine used in the film.
Now I know it's 5 o'clock somewhere... So, let's drink to all the Uniforms out there who serve us today! :beer -
My Son named my Porsche; he called it the "Noisy Car" because it was loud.
So I named my Mini S the " Mini Kar " because it is a Mini car and the Kar sounds German.
Overall, it fits on my license plate, and I like it !!! -

Drunken college philosopher (me) opined about how the hiways of life can sometimes be a *****, so you just have to go enjoy the onramps. My girlfriend started calling me Onramp.

The Mini's name is Smurfette. When I tried to register Smurfette at the Owners Lounge the name was taken. So I added a lucky number. Stuck with the same name everywhere so I would remember mu log ins, lol!
It has been interesting reading about everyone's name origin. -
No real story... first name initial, middle name initial, last name. Having a name as simple and common as 'John Brown' gives me a little more latitude in worrying about folks finding out information on me. There's more than a few folks in the phone book with the same name.

We adopted our L'il Guy in Nov. of '08 and immediately fell head over heals into the whole scene. From track and rally memories of 40 years ago in my long gone TR, we had to go find all the crooked roads in the area. We joined the local MINI club and prowled the web for all things MINI. Somewhere along came the suggestion that these cars speak to their drivers. Sure enough, one fine day with the top down, we learned that ours was a L'il Guy and his name was Frisky. A tag was ordered to reflect that but it lasted only a few months when the State changed the rules on personal tag ownership. Instead of one per county, it became one for the whole state and some one else already had Frisky. They wouldn't tell me who so we could send out our hit man to commit autocide so after long, painful consideration we changed it to Friskie. The L'il Guy isn't at all happy about it, but there it is.
On second thought, that old TR never once spoke to me or inspired sheepishly admitted obsessive detailing behavior. -
It is where I am and what I drive. Test drove a MINI in '02 and finally was able to get The Beast, an '06 BRG MCS, this past July. It is great to see other members of MMMC here!
Cheers!
