Quite often I miss the old days when the only options were radio, white walls and fender skirts.

Me, I often use my iPad during my "commute". Have to be careful I don't trip over the couch rounding that last corner to my desk.

It all is about hang up & drive. Cars are to be driven not used as mobile offices. Yes I'm old fashioned that way. :D

I agree with Crash, you need to leave your job at work and enjoy your car. Those who want to schedule meetings and such while driving either need to park while they work or let someone else drive.

Not in my car......I don't even listen to the radio!

Besides, in a classic, there's so much ambient wind/road noise you can't hear it anyway! :biggrin5:

But just having my Garmin on the dash is distraction enough.......

Trouble is even if this only works when the car is stopped some dolt will sit there & read while holding up the folks behind them. You see it now with people texting at lights, light changes & they continue to look at their phone. Give a friendly toot of the horn to wake them up & get the bird flipped at you. Ain't folks grand? Someone will find a hack to make it work with the car in motion. I've past folks watching a DVD on the radio as they drive. That is not supposed to happen, but a hack made it possible. My thought is these folks should be in a Google car & not one they control.

    Wow quite a rant. :incazzato:

A buddy of mine had this come up on his new Escape's center screen on the way home from vacation this year. He had to shut off the car and restart it to get the screen back. No joke.

You beat me to it -- although my commute is more dangerous, as there are stairs involved. I could also run over a dog, if I'm not paying attention.

My work commute was 45/60 per day. It was the only time I had for myself. I listened to what I wanted, I enjoyed the solitude, and loved driving. To imagine having to also work during this time would be intolerable.

This surely will result in a redraft of the pedestrian safety standards to address the sudden increase in pedestrian incidents and motor vehicles...

Car designers won't have a chance in making good looking front ends for new cars...

Autonomous cars are the only way this will work...

    The end is near...:D

    When Will This Insanity Stop....

That's right. All this tech is insanity when simple and old school works just fine.

This is a real product and went viral with people posting reviews on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E1D1GY6/

    (5 stars) Great cutting board
I'm a college student and I never had time to prepare a proper meal! Now with this steering wheel desk, I use it as a cutting board! I can dice, mince, slice, or chop my meat in the convenience of my car. By the time I get home, all my meat, veggies, etc are ready to be cooked!

(2 stars) Not as convenient as I expected
I just picked uuyp my laptop hoder from the post offfice and I'm ddriving home now. It's OK Iguess, but the bumpy road majkes it hard to type. And theree's a lot of pedeestrians and traffi c that keep distracti9ng me fromm my computer.

(1 star) What a stupid design
When the airbag went off, the laptop screen lid slammed shut on my fingers.

(2 stars) This thing really really sucks!
It has cost me a fortune. I drive a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and the shift gear is on the steering. So on the highway, when I do a sharp left, the f$%#$%% thing shift me truck in reverse. Not only I slam my chest broken on the it but I'm gone through two transmissions! Don't recommend for Pickup trucks!

(5 stars) Clean your guns while driving
This thing is great for field-stripping & cleaning your Glock-FoeTee between road-rage incidents. Be careful not to turn with loose ammo laying on it - all the bullets will roll off.

MINI is ahead of the curve with their pedestrian smurfy front end.

Brian I'm willing to drive your car while you do office stuff. Will you supply the coffee?

Have the car read you the mail and respond by voice if you have to. The screens are a hazard.
