I try to mark everything when I take wires/parts off the car due to the length of time before I put them back. Last night I was installing the engine ECU box and then went to plug in the front connector noticing a wire that bolts to some place. Looks like a ground wire. I figuring some place to the chassis. Can anyone take a look? I'll try to take some photos tonight.

That description is a little confusing for a couple reasons, pics might help.

Jim, I believe it bolts over, not under "that thing", right beside the "other gizmo".

Correct, and the wire attaches right beside it.

Just to clarify, wires near the Gizmo are always installed with duct tape.

I'm laughing so much here. I forgot to mention there is another plug near the thermostat that needs to go someplace. Lucky I figured out where the engine goes! Thanks for you help.

Being in Costa Rica we do have a few monkeys running around! So this little monkey was able to sit by the wire in question. It's the wire resting on the pipe that bolts some place. This wire comes from the wiring loom going into the front of the ECU box.

DME ground wire held on by a 10mm nut..should be a little stud sticking out on the body?

I keep getting distracted by the monkey so this is just a guess....

It can get cool here sometimes so the monkeys wear sweaters! Ah a ground wire. I know a nut who can help.

Tip: Tell the monkey to take pictures of everything BEFORE taking things apart.

So, for those who follow threads like this hoping to learn something ... and those who get more out of visual aids (like me).

This must be the wire you're talking about. (red arrows) In this pic you can see it coming out of the side of the wiring loom for the DME control module.

Assuming that's the wire in question, not sure whether it's hiding "under that thing" or "beside the other gizmo" but here's the grounding point. (green arrow)
