Thanks.

Rally New MemberMotoring Alliance Founding SponsorTuner, is usually short for import tuner. It's a "scene" or car community. Tuner is kinda like the pep-boys, fast&furious style. Big spoilers, lambo doors, cheap wheels, etc.

So tuner is actually not so much?
-
Rally New MemberMotoring Alliance Founding SponsorI'm assuming youre referencing engine tuning? The quality "tuner" cars have a great deal of engine work done and usually run standalone management systems that require tuning.
-
goaljnky New MemberTake it easy. Just going by what you posted:

Rally New MemberMotoring Alliance Founding SponsorSorry if it came off otherwise...I was simply rephrasing myself since I left that portion out in the original description.

Those will work well on your MINI.
:beer
When will they be on the MINI, pictures.... Please!

Well, I have to get additional information first. The site is not informative, but it seems they may be for the first generation only. If spacers will work, then that is fine, but I have to find out if that is the case. I like them, so I hope they will work out. I'll keep ya posted.

Has anyone ever used Drag Extreme Alloy wheels. I am looking at 17x7 DR-19 (GLOSS BLACK, GUN METAL, CHROME, SILVER).
Has anyone used them? Have they had any problems? Are they a good quality wheel?
Thanks -
Redbeard JCW: because fast is fun!Supporting MemberDecent for DD. Not high quality and not light weight though. They are a cheapie brand (Carried by Discount Tire). The DR-19s look good though.
BTW, I am running Kyowa 206s on my MINI for track days. Nice 17x7 rim at 17lbs.
...And no. I'm not using that rubber on the track. It's just what came on them when I bought them. -
thanks for the info. I don't run on the track so I think the DR-19 will be find. Of course no I like the Kyowa 206s. So many choices.

Weight is certainly a issue
What I think the issue when you take track use out of it is wearabilty
The lower cost tuner wheels, which I own a set, do not wear as well as the higher end
They scratch easier, hold onto road schmutz easier, etc
You do get what you pay for
Finding a good wheel refinisher in your town and budget to take them to him once a year or so you should be in pretty good shape. Depends on how anal you are about your wheels
Good luck, all the choices are NUTTY

Redbeard JCW: because fast is fun!Supporting MemberI hadn't heard of Kyowa until recently. Decent rims for tracking though. They are mostly lightwieght mono-block rims (despite my two tone wheels they are monoblock). They normally aren't cheap, they arent BBS/OZ/Enkei expensive either. They typically run the $175 to $250 per wheel range.

I got mine used for a helluva deal off of Terry from FUbrication. Otherwise, I couldn't afford them. -
goaljnky New MemberI've had Kyowa on my vert for the past 4 years or so, although I don't think they make that model anymore. Paid $560 for the set, but I think that was when they first came out. Couple of them are out of round by now due to potholes and such, but are still in decent shape. As a matter of fact I used them at Willow Springs last time I saw you.
