Well... I never would have thought that I would have been a convert from the VW comunity but here I am. 2 weeks ago I bought an '04 pepper white cooper S and love it more than life it's self. This is SO quick, light, nimble, and sticky that it makes the GTI look like a turd. Only question I have is when do I have to change the oil in the gear box for the supercharger? She has about 88k on her and it seems pricy to run the chance of trusting the PO on the maintainance.
Welcome Rocco! I came from the VW community too (2007 GTI) and haven't looked back. The MINI-love is pretty contagious. The only suggestion I have is to take better care of the MINI than the VWs I'm currently on the Oil Change every 5k miles plan, no matter what the car manual says. Although I have a newer model - you might want to search around to see if anyone has some concrete suggestions. Cheers on the new MINI! :beer
:cornut: WELCOME! WELCOME to MA and the MINI community from Sherman,Texas. I came from the Ford Explorer Community so one just never knows. Until one of the gear heads comes along, check Gen 1 and Drive Chain threads for the info that you need. Jason
Welcome to M/A! I did the gearbox at 50,000 miles as I believe that was the recommendation here. The Super Charger I'm not sure, but I bought the oil to do the job soon.
Welcome to the FUN side! Not sure where you're from, but the Georgia Mini Auto Club welcomes you to the fray!
Welcome! My best friend has a GTI and thinks it's the s***. I don't argue, but I don't agree  I'm on my 3rd MINI and love them. I don't think MINI specifies oil service on the SC.... but here's a link to the Bentley guide for checking/filling it: https://wiki.bentleypublishers.com/display/tech/2002-2006+MINI+Cooper+S+Supercharger+Oil+Service
