There was a thread recently started by Nathan (I think) asking about windows 10. I tried doing a search to locate it and only got a blank page for my efforts. I presently have Windows 7 and I got a message on my screen this morning that I could upload Windows 10 for free. Do I want to do this?
Is this what you were looking for? http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/off-topic-general/25134-windows-10-anyone-tried-yet.html I sure don't want to. Even before they started promoting 10 I got a Windows 7 update that would not allow some of my stuff to operate. I restored back and completely disabled any and all update instructions and haven't looked back.
I've migrated to 10 from 7. Had some issues mostly performance related so rolled it back. That went without a hitch. Spent some quality time cleaning up the PC, replaced the hard drive that holds all the data with a solid state one. Bumped the memory from 64 GB to 128 GB. Ran the migration tool again. Now I'm much happier with Windows 10.
I have a custom built version of Win 7 on a Server that I use. It was built by a friend of mine with tons of RAM so I am not upgrading for a loooong time.
What worries me about Windohz 10 is that it may not play well with some programs I have. Sure don't want to have to rebuy things that are not Win 10 compliant. I know Microfart says it is compatible, but in the real world that seems to not be the case for more than a few people. When this box I'm typing on dies I'll deal with all this cunfuser carp then.
^^^ I read about this on the spiderwebs.....Bill Gates will personally send a team of enganeers to your house and fix your cunfuser if it breaks...
I'm a Mac user, and new versions of Apple's OSX are also VERY memory hungry. When I bought my current Mac desktop, 8GB of RAM was plenty -- even running Photoshop every day. Now, that's barely enough. Seems both Apple and MicroSloth are piling on crap just to have something "NEW" to release. CD
