Thanks Nathan, kinda was confused for sec :lol: Yes, wind blocker for rear seat area. OEM seems excessively priced :eek6: Hoping for something more reasonable.
I typically drive top down with the windows down regardless of the weather as long as I'm at speed before the rain starts I keep on going. I have seen temps of 25-120F all of which has been windows down, top down. When I was a passenger in my wife's Cabrio we had the Brownflyer windscreen. The ball of cold air that comes between the two seats and goes all the way up to the gearshift knob was removed from the middle of the car and a notable blast was added to the outside of the seats by the doors. With this in mind when I got my Cabrio I started looking at other options since I had paid the extra money for a convertible I wanted to use it as much as possible. While the Brownflyer does allow for full use of the back seat I wanted to see how it compared with the OEM model and was first able to get a 2nd generation OEM windscreen. It fits and functions well however I did notice when driving in the 20 degree area the "V" in the middle that is designed to go around the 2nd Gen's seat allowed a little of the ball of cold air to go in between the seats however it only went about 8-10 inches onto the front area however the buffeting of the wind was gone when driving at highway speeds with the windows down and removed almost completely if you drive with the windows up. Seat warmers and heater with the windows down cured the problem and I placed a small black towel into the V to closed the gap. I was curious on if this ball of air was present on the 1st generation and finally found one available for less than the $250 you typically see them starting at. Minimal air ball on both the sides and middle with the 1st generation OEM wind screen only getting about 3 inches in between the front seats and the same results with regards to the wind buffeting. Unlike the full use of the backseat available with the Brownflyer I find myself throwing my bump cap, jackets, golf clubs etc. below the windscreen in the back seat as it keeps them safe and out of sight when the top is up and the car is parked. Our Brownflyer is in my wife's Cabrio however she is a Sun's up Top's down kind of Gal and in my opinion misses out on many opportunities by limiting her time. Just a side note rain will go over your head at speed however it will drop from the top corners of the windshield onto your knee and onto the door panel, however the looks on the other drivers as you go whipping by them is a classic. I have a second generation OEM windscreen available if your interested.
