    I didn't know that.
In that case it looks like MINI has been forced to take responsibility for not honoring valid warranties.
    That's a good thing.
I don't mind MINI getting rich and turning a profit on their product as long as they stand behind what they are selling.

This must have happened since they printed the letters.

On my copy, Section 7 "Result if Court Approves Settlement" says "If you fall within the class definition and remain in the class, and the settlement is approved, the Court will enter a judgement ..." etc, etc. (emphasis added)

    Sorry, that's enough lawyer-speak. I promise to never do it again...probably. :D

My understanding is that this is was agreed to by MINI and this is the first step taken to get the court to order the compensation to the owners. :confused5:

I got one in the mail and it went to the recycling bin. I didn't even buy May until she had 53k, so I wouldn't be eligible anyways. Though from the looks of the windshield it is the original one. No cracks, but it looks like it needs some Proactive. Tons of little divets throughout the whole thing. Nearly impossible to get it clean!

I have a 2006 mini that has 2 cracks in the windshield running from the drivers dash over to the passengers side. Like some of us here the cracks happened and I did not get them fixed. due to a 250 mile round trip to the nearest mini dealer and working a lot.
Why would a defect in a windshield be covered only under warranty when a windshield crack is not spelled out anywhere in the warranty. Most drivers are under the belief that if a windshield cracks its your fault not the automakers.
In my area of south Texas I see most of the minis with the same or similar crack(s) now that I have 62000 on my mini - I am up **** creek with out a paddle even though it happened several years ago. aka "still under warranty" After reading the class action suit it applies to a small portion of the population of mini owners. The rest of us live with the "defect" for as long as we own this class. My question then - is it the frame causing this or the windshield itself? I see several people replacing this item 2 or 3 times... due to "stress"- stress from the design? what brand of windshield is the correct replacement to get.

"Feeling like a Toyota tundra owner". or was it the "ford pinto owner" hmmm...

I still love the car but come on stand behind what you make.... man-up!

I had a stress crack on my first R56 after about 6 months of ownership. I took it in to the dealership and they replaced it at no charge. I've had to replace a couple of other windshields on my other MINIs due to rock damage, but no stress cracks. So, I got the notice, read it and shredded it. MINI has been good to me.
