So... for those of you who garage your MINI in the winter, how do you know when it's time to get it back out?

The weather forecast is looking pretty nice around here... it's getting me antsy. But the roads still have crappy salt all over them. Ugh.

 

I drive mine in the winter, but only when the weather is nice. The back of the MINI actually gets less dusty in the wintertime. I guess the damp streets keep the dirt stuck to them.

Most of my friends who garage their cars for the winter wait until after the first good rain washes the salt off the streets. That should happen around here by this weekend, according to the weather guessers.....

However, I doubt the salt is really a problem, especially if you just wash the car sometime in the next few weeks, it's already well diluted by the snow melt.

That's what I was thinking... but the boyfriend mentioned that there's still lots of rocks and crap on the road. Ugh rock chips. My next car is getting completely covered in clear vinyl.

 

Rain whats that? I won't see rain till late May. Live at 9'500 feet but we don't use salt. Something better, Mag Chloride although all the trees along the highways are dead because of it.

 

jbewely, on avalanches we have had alot this year. Theres one on Berthoud Pass called Stanley, it went two weeks ago, it was 20 to 30 feet high and over two football fields across it closed the pass for 32 hours had to go the long way for two days. Serious snow this year.

 

I have the MINI to drive all year. I don't mind that.

However- he does pretty well- garage-kept and in really bad snow, the hubby drives me to work in the Jeep.

 

Bummer! I think we only got 3-4 inches here in West Chester.
The driveway's almost completely dry already!

 

We're supposed to get about an inch of snow tomorrow, but they say it won't stick at elevations less than 500 feet.

The weather guessers around here are calling for a chilly and wet Spring. I guess that means it's time to retire that freaking groundhog.:devil:
