The other day it rained, when the rain stopped, the wipers wouldn't. none of the switch controls would function. I shut down the car, removed the fuse and the wipers stopped. Later I reinstalled the fuse and nothing worked in the wiper system, front rear or washers. The directionals also now fail to shut off after making a turn. Could this be a computer generated problem? Help:crazy:
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. What year and model MINI are we talking about here please.
This sounds like the problem to me. Good luck getting everything fixed. Oh and welcome to MA the FUN Mini site.
Still wait'n for our FUN stickers for the racecar. Guess we'll make 'em up and add 'em appropriately!
Sorry for the delay, just getting used to the site. Our Mini is a 2008 without the turbo. Since my last posting I have tried disconnecting the battery in the hope of resetting the computer. Upon reconnecting the batt. the wipers cam on and would not respond to the control switch, front rear or wash. I had to remove the fuse again. The directionals work but do not cancel after making a turn.

Sounds like something is going on in the steering column where the switches converge. I'd pull the wheel and take a look at the connections in the column. Moving thread to 2nd Gen area.
