    nice. it would also keep bugs from splattering all over that felt material when the insert is removed :cool:

    I havent had a bit of trouble in 46K miles though (fingerscrossed)

    Not quite. It's technically only available with the chrome scoop, although some dealers will go ahead and give you one with the painted scoop too, even though it's not called for by MINI USA.

    I've been meaning to inquire about the felt material as I've seen this on several people's pics. I have a '10 MCS and don't see this on mine. Is this a standard piece that I'm missing or did Mini stop installing those on later year models?

    Our 08 build Clubman does have felt under the scoop, but not a full blanket like a 1st gen car.

    My dealer claims it available for all. I didn't have to request it. Like most things dealers vary.

    My friend's 10 MCS doesn't have it either.

    I'll be the first to show off my new WMW Heat Shield, thanks WMW! Maybe the dealer would give me one, maybe not.... but 2 hours round trip to the dealer in crappy traffic, the gas it takes to do it, the waiting time...then double that if they tell me to come back (which they usually do)...it's worth the $26 to me. My scoop isn't sagging yet, and I plan to keep it that way.

    Nice fit, I like it!

    Looks nice. Exactly like the stock one. If I hadn't got one from the dealer I would have ordered one as well. I guess the WMW logo on the announcement picture was a watermark! :)
