I love mine. My wife had to move my car the other day and had no idea where the gears were. Had to pull out the manual to find out. Yes, I have had my car two years now and she has only driven it a total of ten feet in reverse.

Can someone tell me the inner diameter of the shift knob found on current models?
-
Your shift knob gave me an idea. Might have to order another one from Whalen.

Stainless steel is tougher than many other metals, but not necessarily "hard".
