I'll try to stay on track with the theme of this thread....... Nope....... No one was burning their fireplace today, it was quite warm, but give it another month and it will be nice. With fall just around the corner.....I buy my smoked meats locally from an old company that does a truly fantastic job (Thurns). I put on a huge pot of Navy beans, with carrots, onions, celery and a big smoked ham hock. That and fresh corn bread and a few squirts of hot sauce. MMMmmmmm, heaven. No I don't ride myself, except for the MINI. My part in the equation are the horse bills. But it's a good trade, she's a great girl, studies hard, gets good grades, hangs around with good, like minded horse people, doesn't get into trouble, doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, doesn't give her mom and I any problems. Wouldn't trade this "raising of a child" for anything. We've been very fortunate.
Perfect evening in Central Ohio. Firepit will be burning, red wine will be pouring and about 9:30 we'll start watching the sky for the space station going over. We first spotted it last Thursday night and have seen it every night since then. Pretty cool!
It looks like really, really bright landing lights on a very large aircraft. With binoculars you can see a lot of detail, solar panels are quite visible. Beside the moon it is the second brightest object in the night sky. Saw it Thursday evening just as the moon was rising.
