Well, since the seat's mounted in the middle, it's pretty clear the owner doesn't have any friends. And won't, judging by his taste.
Perhaps someone with a plastics fabrication business and a lot of time on their hands......way too much time. On the other hand it is possible, we might see an "all metal MINI" roll out of Columbus, OH some day. Jim
Uh....it was a show model to demo their various in-car products, it was also built 8 years ago.....a hell of a lot of artistry and skill went into building it tho. And yes, it's hideous!
Correction: Anyone can design. Not everyone can do it well... I figured it was a show car. Too much that would not be functional and that seat looks like some kind of torture device... not a seat. We had a Dodge Ram show truck when I worked at Esoteric Audio/StreetWires before it was broken up and sold by the bank. It was not driveable on the street thanks to a fully functional fishtank in the grill, but the sound system would leave your kidneys whimpering for it to stop... :cornut:
Not saying it didn't take skill and talent. Just observing that with one seat only, the creator(s) is not going to be sharing the ride with anyone. This may be a good thing.
That is my issue with show cars, it becomes less about the art and more about who can go further. At least with this one lots of audio/video equipment makes sense , because it was built to sell audio/video equipment. No doubt allot of skill time went into that but it just isn't very nice. I think the Alpine team has since toned things down.
Yep, this ting does exist [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6hi3yhKMv4]Alpine Mini Cooper Speedster - YouTube[/ame] Alpine page about this ting
That is clever. You pull the seat back, get in and then have someone shove you forward into driving position. Could be a problem if parallel parked. Jim
Pic from the new Prometheus movie.... Can't wait for it to come out... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU6wcZhMzEs]Prometheus International Trailer 3: The Prometheus Lands, Facehuggers & Alien Spaceships - YouTube[/ame]
It's the Space Jockey! No, really, that's its name. It originally appeared in Alien, it will appear again in Prometheus.
