    Welp.... A little update....

With the weather being so hot and humid, I didn't do much with my wheel project. However, today was much cooler in the shop, and I was able to put two together. Each wheel has 36 assembly bolts that need to be torqued to 26 ft/lbs each per the Work representative. Yep..... Thats a total of 936 ft/lb's of total torque per rim..... Torquey little devils....

I still need to seal the barrel joint. And TPMS units are on their way from Aaron @ Outmotoring.... Since the Work wheels have a very unique valve stem, I'll have to do a "work around" when installing the TPMS.

Here you can see where the valve stem enters into the back half of the barrel. The stem makes a 90 degree bend and pokes through the wheel face. Normal TPMS installation won't work. When all the wheels were disasembled I added ID marks to each piece. If you look closely, you can just see my (4) prick marks next to the valve stem hole. That's wheel #4..... It's better to try and keep all the pieces together when re-assembly takes place.

    DANGER - DANGER - DANGER

    Piksur Intensive

    OK.... Another little update

Work wheels don't readily accept TPMS units..... Yes they do make an adapter, but it doesn't hug the barrel very well (not much space inside low profile tires) and can be snagged by the "Tire Guy" and they are "Poke Your Eyes Out Expensive" and weren't in stock at the time I was looking......

Sooooo...... Designed and made my own.... Here's how.....

Developed a design and transferred the pattern to 18 gauge T304 SS.....

Bought 4 SS 3-1/2" hose clamps....

    Made em bigger.....

    Formed the holders....

    Closeup in place.....

    Again.....

    Ditto....

The barrels just got finished in a semi-gloss black powder coat to kind of hide the brake dust.....

For some reason the images are not coming up on my iMac or my Windows 7 HP using Firefox, latest version.

    Hummmm.

Would like to view the WIP progress. :)

Hecks yes. Those are going to look killer. Subscribed!

Who is PowderCoating them? Sounds like a lot of places are many weeks out on it, except maybe Wheel Medic. I think they are like a week out. Performance PC is like 4 weeks out.

Streetwerkz on Clara next to the fairgrounds is doing it.

The bottleneck is me, not the powder coater. It's been just too dang hot and humid out in the shop. If I'm out there more than and hour working on these babies, I'm drenched.....

I dropped the faces off yesterday after work. So, the old paint is going to be stripped off and prepping for the P/C.
