Join MINI of Grand Rapids and MINI motorists from all over the country as we attempt to break the Guinness Book World Record for the Largest Parade of MINIs. The rally will take place on Saturday, August 3rd and will culminate with a mass crossing of the Mackinac Bridge. More details will become available soon. Check back often and don't forget to invite every MINI owner you can find so we can break the record of 1,450 MINIs! https://www.facebook.com/events/521093454613906/
I just saw the Fifth Gear episode where they set the current record with Ferraris in Old Blighty and thought this is something we should do with MINIs on this side of the pond. Thanks for posting about this. Will be interested in the progress.
For those (like me) that don't do FB: http://mogrnews.com/mini-dealers-lansing-3 I do business in Detroit and Ann Arbor. I wonder if I can segue an expensed trip to do this )
I wish this was happening a bit further south. I could guarantee our 2 MINI's for the parade. But Michigan is a bit far for us to go from Florida!
A dealership in Virginia Beach has talked about trying this same thing. Perhaps if they get their act together more people from south of the border can participate.
I was at the on in VA Beach years ago, where we did set the record then. Can't make this one...will be at the beach..
Our Green Bay "his and hers" are both going to be there. Go Pack!!! '12 S, auto, S.O., DDM c.a.i., Thanks Detroit Tuning.
Hi everyone! more details on this attempt are posted at Special Events and News in Grand Rapids - sponsored or run by MINI of Grand Rapids. An official registration page should be available in the next week for those that want to attend. WE NEED ALL OF YOU! Let me know if there's any questions. I'd be happy to help.
So who else is going to MINIs on the Mac? Right now it looks to be about 20-ish MINIs from Chicago area, and I know of a few Milwaukee area people as well. The family is planning on heading out to Grand Rapids area Thursday night. We'll join up with a group leaving from MINI of Grand Rapids around noon or 1pm. We'll be heading back around the Wisconsin side for the drive home.
Reading about all the folks coming from out of state, I felt obligated as a Michigander. So James & I will be in attendance. :biggrin5:
I can't make it, I have to be in Houston on Sun/4th for a conference. I thought about driving to MI, flying to/from Houston out DTW and then driving back...but I got tired just thinking about it. Sorry :-(
I've recently learned that Chad of Detroit Tuned and White Roof Radio will be there giving the event full coverage via Pod Cast!
No Guinness record, but Minis have fun to the max trying. http://m.freep.com/autosbusiness/article?a=2013308030072&f=1235
