    Singer is it.

It's not really a surprise. Such a stunning car, with 95% of the sex appeal of Ferraris like the 250, but completely usable. The body is galvanized and weatherproof, the motor is reliable with electronic engine management, and the performance is more than adequate for almost any occasion.

What's more amazing about the company is its founder. If you haven't picked up on it, the reason the company is called Singer is that its founder, Rob Dickinson is the former lead singer for Catharine Wheel, a successful British indie rock band from the 90s.

He still maintains a robust solo career, and recently signed a new record deal. More people know of Dickinson for his music than his car company. So, what do you think, ultimate car tuner by day, rock star by night. We can safely say the Dickinson is living the dream.

Well that ends it. The people have spoken. The money-no-object fantasy car that probably none of us will ever have is the Singer 911. Maybe a better contest would have been the ultimate fantasy car under $20k, but I guess that what the rest of this forum is about.

I love both the finalists, but the usability is what swayed my vote to the Singer 911.

Hey now wait a minute Eric, it's not quite over. I'm sure in the rules it said all of us who picked the winner would be receiving our very own Singer 911. Do I have to come to Philly & pick mine up or can you bring it to the Dragon?

Nope I got mine 1 year old used and got a great deal on it because it was a custom ordered car from my local dealer. I had my local dealer look up the VIN and I had the build sheet / order spec sheet before I called the selling dealership.

They did not know what they had they said its just a cute little new MINI.

What they did know it was a JCW with every option with an LSD and I even got then down another 2k and paid about $20,500.

I have had a few years of experience on how dealerships work and how deals are done and this dealer just wanted to get rid of the little red car off the Benz lot.

Thanks, maybe some time I will put together another one, but no price cap based game... Maybe age though... :)

But honestly, keeping everything up, doing the research, selecting the cars, and trying to keep the game from being dragged off topic SUCKS!

It sounds, and seems easy to do, until your the front man... Once the door is kicked all hell breaks loose! :)

Good luck B.A.D., you're gona need it!

I wasn't dissing on other brands, I too am a car guy. I just posted that I thought it was amazing that the GP-1 wasn't winning by a great margin, especially with the R53 love that most of us have ( me included). There are a lot of cars I would like to have in my garage....a GP-1 is surely one of those.

Does that make them a bunch of P…. on sorry that almost slipped out.

    You bunch of traders!:lol::lol::lol:

Its not that I don't like those P cars. But its the people that drive them that make me not like that brand. Not all so don't get your panties in a wad. Its just I have had my fill of people that buy a car just to be cool. Porscheee seems to have more than any other brand. Yuppies yuck!!!!!!
In the 80's I worked at a independent shop that I think every Porsche owning yuppie came to. Its like when your a kid and eat too much of your favorite candy and through it up. After that you just can't stand that candy any more.:D

    GP-1

I already have a MINI that has more power then a GP -1 but I would like a GP-1.

But given the choice of a free car I would absolutly take the Porsche hands down.

People need to be realalistic and stop being such MINI fan boys because it's really is no contest. If you are picking the GP-1 over a Porsche you may want have your head examined.

Let me guess your favorite color is Potato?....

I'll drive you to the doctor, I guess I need mine examined too. Slow deep breath.....The MINI is actually more fun on the track than a 996. There, I said it. There is only one car that I've either been in or driven that's more fun on the track than a MINI, and that's a Lotus.

It's not about comfort or functionality for me, everyone picks a car for different reasons. If you lined the two up and offered me one or the other, I'd take the GP. Seriously. And mod the heck out of it.

It's only money, and it depends on what you're after; people sometimes regret getting the most expensive thing even if it's affordable. Case in point, two years ago I routinely thrashed a guy in an Audi TT at every track we visited, including Road America. Good guy, but he thought he needed something faster than a MINI. So he bought an M3; he sat in a MINI at the dealer, an R56 JCW, while the manager was putting the paperwork together, and started having second thoughts. He went ahead and bought the M3, and still took a thrashing at the track, though not as much in the TT. He sat in my passenger seat once last year, and after he got out, told me he wish he hadn't bought the M3, and he was serious. This is a guy who money means literally nothing, he's got more than he'll ever be able to spend. Hope he gets a MINI for next year. He knows mine is modded, and he flat out said he wish he'd gone that route after running a few laps in my car.

I am not filthy rich, but I could afford something more expensive, and prestigous, and sometimes I think about it, but everytime I go to the track, the MINI is so much damned fun that I just can't get rid of it.
