I'll stick to the old skool air-cooled when it comes to the classics for a DD. Much more comfortable to drive, and less finicky to deal with.

    GP...gotta love a r53...
And a long highway roatrip in a classic might prove to be too much of an adventure...
Classics are great cars, but let's face it...not made for interstate travel...

    What effing rules?
You knuckleheads did not even use common sense and chose a MINI 30K over a 80K Porsche.

    Blah Blah Blah

I don't see where it says every car has to fit your sleeping bag but you don't see me crying about it.

I could use it as my daily driver because I work from home. Also that does not mean I sleep in it because its also my home.

If I've gotta drive it every day, I've gotta go with a GP1...

Well Maybe I should reconsider. If a classic owner is picking a GP-1.

I want a classic Mini so bad that it aches, but if it had to be a DD, I have to take the GP. Here in Georgia it gets into the high 90's and stays there for months at a time. I also worked in a foundry for a few years, so I've had a lifetime's supply of sweating....

Once you are retired you can own a classic. Just use your wife's car when it's called for.

Hey Eric when are you delivering my classic? :biggrin5:

Another close one, where the temperature rose just a bit--I like it. You know when politics are brought into a forum debate, the learning has stopped. Although I'm partial to the classic, I think the right one was chosen based upon the stipulations set out before us. It's pretty clear we're going to have to up the ante if we need to find a car to beat the GP-1. Hmmmm. Let me see...

    Would you rather...

GP...............generating electricity from coal kills more people than driving gasoline cars does.

Tesla for me. I would easily sacrifice long twisty drives that occasionally happen over the need for four seats that frequently happens in my life.
