Lookin' cool parked in garage or up on jack stands is no where as cool motoring from point A to point B !!
I still have to go with the GTI. That 635csi is much bigger in comparison and I couldn't flog it around the track like I could the GTI.
he would have no less than 6 of us clambering to beat the sense back into him with various blunt objects.
Man I thought you were cool enough that you wouldn't have to resort to such a thing. Me on the other hand used my mighty Fire Arrow & got me a fine co-driver & wife. :biggrin5:
Me in that Stance Crowd ..... now that is the funniest this I have heard ALL YEAR. If I ever do that do not hit me. Please shoot me in the head at close range several times. Take this post to court and tell them I told you to do it because I went insane.
I would have to go with the BMW. Back in the early 90's a buddy let me test drive his M6 version for a few days to try and convince me to take it off his hands. Great car! I regret not getting it to this day, but at the time I was a single parent with two kids in high school and on that rare occasion good sense won out.
The guy I got my R53 from put a Corvette motor in his Miata. He said the aluminum V8 was only 10 lbs heaver the the iron 4.
For the first one I have to pick GTI as I loved mine. That is until Chuck lets me drive his Miata. Then I may change my mind. For the second 635 CSi with the buffalo leather interior option.
GTI is now 2-0 with a solid victory over the BMW. As an aside, I've spent half a lifetime driving cool cars, and never once has it succeeded in attracting a woman whose attention I wanted. My experience is that fancy cars are a net negative with women as a whole. In fact, my wife married me despite my irrational car choices. The opposite might not be true. The other day I saw a moderately attractive youngish woman driving an air cooled 911. After stuffing my tongue back into my agape gob, I came to my senses, realizing that this skinny, married, balding and drunk 47-year-old had no chance. But back to much more important issues. Who's next for our two-time champ the Rabbit GTI? Would you rather... ...or... a 60s Bronco?
Bronco. It suits all my needs in an only car and they will rust away before they break if you take care of them.
A pure stock Bronco with vacuum windshield wipers, poor heater, skinny tires, tinny sounding radio and poor gas mileage just would not be my cup of tea for a daily driver any more .... Now a very nicely modified one as a second vehicle that's another story but for all around use I still grudgingly have to pick the GTI.
No contest the GTI. Although it would be entertaining to sit in my lawn chair drinking a beer & watching that Bronco become a rust colored stain on the drive.
