For handling all of the mundane trips to grocery stores, tight side streets, ease and cost of maintenance that is expected from a daily driver I still vote for the GTI.
GTI... Less pretentious... And no butt that looks like it belongs on the "Kerdeshian's" show... Gotta admit, that bmw has an odd looking backed...reminds me of a song...something about bigggg olllll buttts...
I can only say, the GTI would not get keyed by some SOB on a trip to wally world...besides.. If it looks like a clown shoe now, what will it look like in 20 years? Timeless look...naww..cool car, yes, timeless classic looks? No way!! You know what they say about some women...dolls when young, dragons when old....the BMW just does not look like it will age gracefully.
A narrow win for the world's second ugliest car (Aztek), and my personal favorite sports car. Oh, and Rawhyde, I've had some experience driving both the early S52-powered car and the later S54-powered car, and I'd have to respectfully disagree. The later cars are so urgent with those motors and twitchy handling. It's the closest thing to re-living my brief, post-college stint dating a professional ballerina with daddy issues: A wild ride. We'll do one more before the weekend, and start upping the ante. Remember that you can't turn around and sell your hypothetical car to make a that hypothetical fortune. You gotta live with the car. So... Would you rather... or...
I used to not care for those water cooled Porsche's. Until my good friend bought a 996. After a couple hundred miles of twisty Ohio back roads behind the wheel I'm a changed man. This one being a 996 Turbo all I can say is HELL YES!
