I love the idea of a performance wagon. This is what I had before my R53.... I wish there wasn't so much hate for wagons in the US, which keeps some great ones from being sold here...Focus St wagon, RS4 and RS6 Avant, or the newer XF Sportbrake.
No love for wagons here & little for hatchbacks either. Those vehicles are so practical I don't understand the dislike of them.
Porsche wins again. Big Daddy Rawhyde just ain't driving a car with an automatic regardless of how fast it is.
I'm also a little surprised at the lack of love for wagons. I can dig 'em. My favorite of all time was this one: from the greatest season of the greatest racing series on earth (at least it used to be). One note of clarification in the rules of our silly little game: you can't trade a car for another car. If you select the purple Countach with quad rear wings, that's the car you drive. The 996 Turbo is proving to be a great champion and may end up being our communal ideal car. Is there a car that can un-seed the Porch? Leaving no stone un-turned: Would you rather... ...or...
I'd take the GP, mod the hell out of it, and have more fun on the track with it than I ever could with a 996. It's the car I wish I would have bought. Pass someone in a 996? No big deal. Pass someone in a MINI, much, much more satisfying
Man as much as I'd love an original GP, I have to go with that 996 Turbo Porsche. Man driving my friends 996 has ruined me.
Porsche 996. I have a GP and would trade for a Porsche 996. I quickly thought Porsche then after thinking about it as a daily driver the decision became a little harder. The GP is sure nice to drive around town and run errands. The Porsche would be better for longer drives, not so much as a daily driver. Insurance and maintenance will be much more expensive on the Porsche. I beat most unmodified Porsches at Auto-X. Still I would take the Porsche over my GP.
