    I don't care if that thing made 700hp and could wipe the floor with an M3 at the track (which it doesn't and wouldn't, of course), it's still stupid.

    Bit of an update . I happened to run into the local BMW service manager today and the topic of the black mini came up . He mentioned that the customer tried to have the blown motor covered under warranty but upon further review of the ECU they denied the claim based on a non factory tune . According to the shop the owner ended up paying out of pocket. Still didn't ask about the valve cover damn it :)
