Do you think they had an idea that things were going amiss in the WRC world before we did and wanted to be sure it would still be around before signing contracts?
I figure that's the best spin they could think of to put on it. I think they really were uncertain whether they would continue -- trying to decide whether they get sufficient bang for buck, etc. -- and word of the big financial debacle came just as they'd finally made up their minds to stay in and were about to announce and sign a new driver.
Soooo apparently MINI and Prodrive have missed the deadline for entry into the 2012 WRC. Rumour has it that the support money is not there...yet! :mad2:
