Ogier slams rivals in WRC rules row (racer.com) As I recall, the qualifying system they dropped this year to go back to the old starting system only existed because of all the complaining Loeb did about having to run first. No one else, Ogier included, seemed to mind the old system when Loeb was complaining. But the organizers listened to him and switched to a qualifying stage, Loeb no longer needed to clean the road, and the rallies got even more predictable than they had been. That is, until he retired.
I don't know how they can do these long stages. Here's a full onboard from a 59km stage in Italy. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UfuLkuf250"]59km Onboard! Hayden Paddon/ Rally Italia Sardegna 2014 - YouTube[/ame]
Can't imagine how that co-driver can keep up that rhythm for so long. The driver was great, but the co-driver was awesome.
The one that used to bowl me over was Luis Moya, Carlos Sainz' co-driver. But then if you have to say "izquierda" a million times a day, you are going to have to fit in a few more syllables than the English speakers... Here he is, with Carlos driving a Porsche 911 in a historic rally last year: [ame=http://youtu.be/XnA9FpXfMiY]Macho, yo no sé tú, pero yo me lo he pasado muy bien... Final de tramo. Time for Poland! There'll be plenty of attention on Bob Kubica in this one. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_ilPLXhMHg"]Robert Kubica - Teaser - Rajd Polski | Rally Poland 2014 - YouTube[/ame] LOTOS 71st Rally Poland (WRC.com)

I think the rocks might be winning today in Poland. Meeke hit a rock and got a puncture. Evans hit a rock and broke his suspension. Kubica hit a rock and had a puncture. Latvala hit a rock and broke his suspension (though he managed to make it back to service). Ostberg hit a rock, lost the front left corner and rolled. Kubica hit another rock and lost the right rear corner. It's not just rocks, though, there were plenty of other incidents including a few rollovers. Two stages (reruns) were cancelled yesterday due to spectators standing too close and deterioration of the stage. Look at those ruts! And something new to me, Mikkelson fined for not only cutting but actually skipping a corner yesterday...and he admitted both that he did it and planned it in advance! How? Looks like at least a bit of loss of control to me but he manages to both correct for the next turn and stay on it the whole time. I really thought he would go over the side on that next corner. Impressive. (Ogier, by the way) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-eF_fc4n7M"]WRC | OS Stare Juchy 1 | Sebastien Ogier | Autor Aleksander Holender - YouTube[/ame]
